As they say in Chicago - vote early, vote often!
The site let me vote for Rufus twice - and he is now in first place!

Tee-hee! I was able to go back and vote from my work computer and now Roof's ahead of GBut by 8 votes! First place! Yaay! I wonder what would happen if I cleared my computer's cache. It might let me vote again.

I think you're allowed to vote once a day (since there's a countdown of how many days are left). I was able to vote again this morning.
Someone I know, ahem, tried the old trick of clearing cookies from her browser to see if that would allow repeat voting, but that didn't work this time. So I guess daily persistance will have to carry the day.

Hey Rueful! I just had an evil thought! Two doors down from my office is our Information Services training room. It's FULL of computers with internet access. Would it be too weird for me to log on from each one of them at some time today and cast a vote?

LOL! I'd hate to have to explain what I was doing to my next-door neighbor, the Information Services manager.

Quite clearly you are being proactive and testing the computers to see if unscrupulous employees are able to log on to time-wasting websites without anyone noticing. Edited to add: Found this in the comments below the entry about judi dench, written by the author of the poll: "I've said it many times before - yes, you can vote many times, but you must come each day, or you just have to close your browser and open it again (this doesn't work with all browsers, but it works with Mozilla), off course I hope fans won't abuse this to cast thousands of votes just for their favourite star " This didn't work with my browser, but just in case anyone here has Mozilla. Also wanted to add, thanks Judy for posting the link to the poll.

Excellent! I have Firefox on my computer! I know what I'll be doing on-and-off this afternoon. Edited to add: DRAT! They must have fixed that little glitch because just closing Firefox doesn't work.

Rufus is currently second! James McAvoy's way ahead now, out of nowhere!

Done. I hope Rufus will be the winner! That's funny, first I was a Gerry-Fan (I still like him), but since I saw Rufus on the telly... ;-) Sorry Gerry, but Rufus deserves it! I was a GB fan, too, until I saw a photo of GB & Rufus at a party (at Blog Babe's house) and I Googled him. I realized he had starred in some of my favorite programs (Cold Comfort Farm, Middlemarch, and Dark City). I was totally hooked then. I still like GBut, too, but Roof is something special. What's the deal with all the James McAvoy fans coming out of the woodwork?

Oh, I don't know about you, but I don't plan to put up with any shenanigans from the James McAvoy people (sorry Glo!).
I've discovered that using the link on the previous page may be the source of the problem. Try closing, reopening, and then getting to the site on your own (via google seems to work).

What does it mean "shenanigans", Rueful? Why don't you like James? Sorry, no way to cast my vote again, I voted just twice.
