Nice clip, thanks for posting!
You know what? I didnt know about the wig! I'd watched the movie twice before Rufusitis and never questioned his hair... But just today i got the dvd and was watching the extras and saw the dancing rehearsals and was then when i noticed rufus's hair! And realized that i had to be a wig on the film! Indeed cant see a reason why using a wig, that wig...LOL

Funny story about the wig:
Last year the movie was on TV and of course I watched it together with my mam. When Rufus was on screen I mumbled:"His wig looks ridiculous. If you know how his real hair looks...gosh this wig is a affront..." and my mam, the calmness in person: "Why? He looks like Elvis. You like Elvis very much and know you've got two in one!" If you could have seen the look I gave her...!!!
A few weeks later I heard Rufus saying (I don't know if it was in the "Making of" or somewhere else?!):"With this wig I look like Elvis in the 68 Comeback Special!" I couldn't stop laughing!

After his last performance in Rock 'n' Roll, there were a few of us waiting to see him outside the theatre, and somebody gave him what I think was a still from LoZ to sign - you should have seen the face he pulled!

That's not hard to imagine I don't even think he looks bad in that wig - he just doesn't really look like himself

I do remember being a bit caustic about it when it first came out but it didn't seem at all bad, in fact I quite enjoyed it.(I must be mellowing) Even the wig didn't seem so bad It seemed to show up how beautiful he is, especially up against Antonio Banderas whom he made to look quite homely. Antonio's hair was terrible and I don't think he was wearing a wig

Now I've finally closed one of my last remaining Rufus movie gaps and watched LoZ. I liked it a lot better than expected. True, it's predictable and clichéd and the characters are very "black and white", but I found it quite entertaining. Just the kind of "popcorn movie" to watch after a long working day when you're not fresh enough for anything demanding Rufus does a good job with this flatly written character, I loved the fighting scenes when he gave Zorro those fiercely raging looks. One of my favourite moments was the polo game with Armand spitting out blades of grass ;D I liked the clothes he wore! What a figure he cuts in that long coat (Antonio in period garb is nice, too, but nothing like aristocratic Armand.) The wig is highly debatable (I found it particularly strange around the ears), but the hair brushed out of the face like that brings out beautiful bone structure, aristocratic nose and piercing eyes nicely. What I really hated was the effeminate, overdone make-up. I may have to re-watch the movie in its original language, though. The German voice was no match for the sexy real thing! (Does he speak with a French accent in the original? )

Just the kind of "popcorn movie" to watch after a long working day when you're not fresh enough for anything demanding That's a pretty charitable view of it. ;D You're right. As usual, Rufus injected some life into the character. You can probably tell it's not my favorite role of his though. He looked verrrry handsome! He was born to wear long coats! Great points, all the way around!! And how will Mr Kate feel about this? Did he at least enjoy the charms of Ms Zeta-Jones? Of a sort--it seems to be a hybrid of French, Spanish and English. Not his best, in my opinion....maybe it didn't seem worthwhile to make his best effort for this nonsense. Here's a clip, which includes spoilers if people haven't seen the movie. www.youtube.com/watch?v=A26tU0KZsN0

You're right. As usual, Rufus injected some life into the character. You can probably tell it's not my favorite role of his though. Oh, not one of mine either. But still I found him way more attractive in this one than in "The Holiday"! Ooh yes. Absolutely! She's one of his favourites (funnily, along with two other of Rufus's co-stars, Irène Jacob and Catherine McCormack). Our TV magazine did not mention Rufus Sewell, only Antonio and the lovely Catherine. So I was secretly rejoicing when he asked "Can we watch that? Catherine Zeta-Jones is in it!" ;D (It took him about 15 seconds to go "Yikes! This is Rufus Sewell!" when he first appeared on screen ) Sorry, Rufus - but I have to agree with rueful on this. The French accents in the Bond audiobooks were much much better! (But then, aren't he and Elena supposed to have a kind of mixed French and Spanish background? Maybe he was trying to do both of them justice.)

Oh, not one of mine either. But still I found him way more attractive in this one than in "The Holiday"! Hmmmm. Interesting choice, between those too. Personality-wise, Armand was far more commanding and much less of a weasel than Jasper, and as we've mentioned, the clothes were lovely, but the hair... Jasper wins that battle hands down. LOL! You're a match made in heaven then...so many movies to watch together. And did you pretend you didn't know, or was there no point in trying that? That's right, continue to show off your charitable nature. ;D
