I'm thinking about ordering She Creature on DVD. However, I've heard that the sound on the R1 disc is really bad. Has anyone here had that problem?

Yes - it is poor and you have to raise the volume up very high. The problem is that the background music is then too loud.

Thanks for letting me know, Tinkerdog! I'll go ahead and get the DVD anyway. Gotta have my Roof fix!

I recorded this off of Sci-Fi when it was on a few months ago. I like it, but I'm not sure I want to spring for the DVD if it's not perfect. Of course, I may change my mind at any time!

I must admit that I try to avoid horror films as much as possible. I made an exception here for obvious reasons. But SC is not going to be on my favorite list either - sorry. I have a question though: What did the mermaid make the captain do that was so terrible? Is it explained? Or do they leave us to speculate? Thanks!

I haven't seen it for a long time, but I believe he altered the direction of the ship into their hands (or mouths as the case may be).

I thought this was pretty unremarkable, except for the extreme sweetness of Angus' attitude toward Lillie, and that moment at the end, when he asks God to save them, and says, 'I really wanted to share my life with you; I really wanted to grow old with you. I love you so much!' I thought there was something so unexpected and disarming about these lines, though upon reflection, it does seem like a perfectly natural way for people to react just before they face an almost certain death. And yet I've never, to my recollection, seen anything like it in a similar scene of a horror movie. I wonder whose idea it was.
Aside from the pleasure of Rufus, I found this was quite disappointing as a horror film. Too many unanswered questions . . . about the creature's abilities, the pregnancy, and the whole premise really, given that she was presumably imprisoned at the old man's place for a number of years. I mean, how long can the clan go without eating?

Have just bought this from Amazon UK( arrived yesterday) for £2.98which has to be a bargain for a Roofie DVD !! Have not watched it yet but have read some of the girlies comments I must admit that sometimes when everyone says a Roofie film is awful I seem to enjoy it in a perverse sort of way . EG.. Ex ops , HOT but of course any thing with Roofie in it has to be enjoyable if only to watch him :. . Will keep you posted about it

Frannie, I don't think this one's awful at all - I love it! I look forward to hearing what you think of it (and even if you hate it, you'll still think Rufus looks gorgeous in it!)

I'm with GE2, Frannie!!!! Angus is a complete honey and the story is creepy and captivating. I'm not a lover of horror movies, and i was glad that this wasn't enough of one to turn me off. And there's a love scene!!!

I really enjoyed watching Rufus in this one, he was lovely. The film was slightly gory and bloody but I got past that (thank you fast forward button) and as usual Rufus was excelent in it.

Well , first, I must say that the sound was fine on my DVD but it was R:2 so perhaps that only applies to R:1 I loved it from the beginning to the end. ...am not a horror pic lover but just sat back and let it sweep me into the fantasy... I didn't care about unanswered questions... I let it flow.... pure escapism...loved it ... every minute of it ....the chemistry between Lily and Angus was wonderful I've not seen her before ..thought she was very good.....Roofie is so good at tenderness. The last scene was oooooh!!! Even though Angus dies, at the end I had a smile on my face from sheer enjoyment. Alright ,so it's not Shakespeare but it is FUN Chocolate Factor ...I sucked and crunched my way through a large bag of Maltesers
