To all the girls with access to German TV who don't mind that it's the dubbed version: She Creature (Der Todesengel aus der Tiefe) will air on Kabel 1 late this Saturday night (well, technically speaking it will already be Sunday then, it starts at 0:25).

Thx honey KMK.... for myself - I prefer the DVD..... and in original .... the music in the german TV is almost too loud for me to understand anything.... but it could be worth for other ones, who hasn't "She Creature" not on DVD...

There was nothing on TV last night and Mr. Kate voluntarily put on the She Creature DVD. (Of course he was complaining afterwards that this was another stupid film ;D ) Myself, I liked it a lot more than I'd expected. I don't like horror movies because they are often so cheaply done with cliché creepy music, guttering candles, flying curtains and, of course, lots of blood and gore. This one isn't all that bloody, the horror is rather subtle with Lily thinking she's losing her mind. I agree with Nell about the mermaid changing into the fish queen monster in the end, I wouldn't have needed that either, but I guess every fantasy-horror flick needs its monster at some point. And Angus is simply gorgeous... Curls? Tick. Braces? Tick. Open-necked shirt? Tick. Bare chest? Tick. He's also a much nicer character than I had expected. Of course he's blinded by his ambition to finally have his big breakthrough, otherwise he'd have realized that the whole mermaid thing was a very stupid idea from the start. But apart from that I liked him a lot, especially in his relationship with Lily. He and Carla Gugino made quite a good couple. And that final scene between them was beautiful All in all, the movie won't reach the top of my Rufus hit list because there are way too many more complex characters he's played, but it's quite good entertainment for a lazy evening on the sofa. And I'll have to re-watch with the original soundtrack, of course. Missed Rufus's original voice as always, particularly in the yelling scene

Yes, the She Creature is a good film. Not everybody's cup of tea but very well done in its genre. I agree that the chemistry between Angus and Lily was hot and the story kept the viewer's interest. I liked Angus in this. He was passionate but a little too ambitious, but he wanted to get on and make a life for himself and Lily. I like that. His accent was gorgeous. Rufus does do a wonderful Irish accent. He has done several. Not really the type of film I like, but Rufus is always worth watching and enjoyed it. I guess the special effects were good which a lot of people will enjoy. It was good that Rufus didn't meet his end until the very last minutes of the film and you didn't really see any gory details. So ok yes a quite enjoyable film.. Have only watched once so far and that was a while ago. Must watch again and see whether I feel differently.

Yay - watched this over the weekend and I actually liked it. Like others I really don't like and don't watch horror films but this one was more a fantasy film with a bit horror thrown in at the end. I loved the turn of the century feel and the brownish colours that gave it the feel of an old films. And the chemistry - like robela mentioned - between Angus and Lily was really hot. Loved Rufus/Angus and his accent and was also glad that the ending for him came swift - (of course I'd prefered if he had survived ) So all in all an enjoyable film with I guess quite good special effects but I don't really care about those honestly. I'm very glad that I was encouraged to go for this

Found a fan-made music video for this today that piqued my interest, and just to see I decided to search youtube for She Creature. Lo and behold, it's actually on there! So I watched it. Actually quite enjoyable, at least until the mermaid turns into the big monster thing. Then it just got a little goofy. But still pretty good. ;D I especially liked how they incorporated actual myths instead of just being like, "It's a lady with a fish tail" lol Oh, his accent sent me into fits of fangirlish giggles in the beginning, too. And I loved the newspaperboy cap and scarf outfit!

I also liked how they incorporated myths into it. I kind of wish they went a bit more in-depth with the main characters, but whatever. In the end, it doesn't really matter, but I was still left a little curious about Lily's past but again, who cares...Roof's the only one that matters!

Great find Anna!! Really enjoyed the video, the music is hauntingly beautiful! I enjoyed this film when I first watched it, surprisingly because it is not the type of film I would normally like. And of course, only watched because of Rufus. I thought the chemistry between Rufus and the leading lady (can't even remember her name now will have to look up) was electric! Love him in this as in everything and absolutely loved his accent!! Thanks for bring up again Meg!! Look forward to watching again now! The whole film is well made and especially the Special Effects!

Its a fun silly little romp and RS is so sweet and adorable in it ...
His 'Irish' accent made me laugh so hard my cats were quite frightened! Yes - a lot of the 'science' behind the mermade biology made no rational sense - but if I wanted rational sense I would look fora documentary - not a sexy, funny, fever dream horror story!

I loved it from the beginning to the end. ...am not a horror pic lover but just sat back and let it sweep me into the fantasy... I didn't care about unanswered questions... I let it flow.... pure escapism...loved it ... every minute of it ....the chemistry between Lily and Angus was wonderful I've not seen her before ..thought she was very good.....Roofie is so good at tenderness. The last scene was oooooh!!! Even though Angus dies, at the end I had a smile on my face from sheer enjoyment. Alright ,so it's not Shakespeare but it is FUN Chocolate Factor ...I sucked and crunched my way through a large bag of Maltesers I knew i had reviewed this before so I looked it up.See Quote above. Having watched it again , I find nothing to change in what I said then , except I loved it as much as before. I want to repeat >> NOBODY DOES TENDERNESS LIKE ROOFIE. ::)I bought a bag of Maltesers this time too. Coincidence or some deep down s*x**l connection. Yeah I watched 'She Creatures ' last night . Woweee! I did enjoy it ! Angus is a darling . A rogue but a darling rogue. It is a pity he doesn't get the amount of indulgent attention that Petruchio, Giles, Ross, Marke and Marco get . Yeah ! I had reviewed it before ... twice,( above )and can only say I don't want to change anything that I said before I repeat Nobody does tenderness like Roofie.
