Wonderful birthday blog post, PrairieGirl! (If you don't mind watching a DVD on your computer, you can try out AnyDVD software - www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html -- That's how I watch Ruf in Region 2!)

Hey judy, thanks, glad you liked it. Wouldn't mind watching Ruf on my computer at all, I was gonna check into that too, so thanks for the SlySoft link. But I use a Mac so will have to find something like it that runs on Mac.

Great post, PrairieGirl! It will do a good job of convincing newbies to try his films (and really, all they need to try is one, and they'll be hooked.
I might have been insulted that you said that coming over here makes you feel less crazy by comparison, if it weren't so true. ;D

Hey rue, glad to be of service to RS neophytes! And always like to be truthful. Before I found y'all here, I questioned my ardent devotion, but cannot tell a lie and admit there are gals here that best me, for sure. But that's OK, hopefully over time I'll learn and catch up with you!

I agree PrairieGirl, there's absolutely nothing wrong with a bit of ardent devotion. ;D I'm fairly sure it's the rest of the world that's crazy - not us!!!

Hey kgal, wichiwoman and rugirl, and everyone, glad you enjoyed, I had fun researching and writing it, with the express encouragement from my good friend (and fellow Ruf lover) Ruth, FlixChatter's creator. Well, encouragement is too mild of a word. When I told her a few days beforehand that Rufs birthday was on Friday, she practically insisted I write a post for him this year. So how could I refuse? ;-). But she added all the eye-candy pix of him. Oh, rugirl, I can't imagine in a million years that Ruf would actually read my post, but since The Rooftop is the land of dreams (and dreams do come true, ala Gloria!), I'll go along with your hope!

Wonderful written PG. I liked it very much! And I totally agree with you. Before finding the Rooftop I thought I'm the only crazy woman on the world. But all other ladies here make me laugh and feel good and I know now I'm not the only one with such feelings.

Welcome to the Rooftop Prariegirl, from a fellow Minnesotan. Your Rufus birthday blog was fun to read. It's always interesting to hear how people "discovered" him, even after they've seen him in films before. For me it was his performance in Dangerous Beauty that gave me my " " moment and made me go out and find everything he was ever in that I could. May I also echo the sentiments of other gals on this board that related to your comment of not feeling so alone (or crazy by comparison) after dishing with others who have a more than avid interest in the extremely talented, incredibly hunky, and all around cool dude that is Mr. Sewell. In life it's not only misery that loves company, but happiness even more so, and happiness is what Rufus brings us and what we share here. And not a small amount of laughter and lust to boot, either

Thanks, nicole and ruflvr. I lurked long before I finally joined. Somehow I thought if I gave in to my like and lust and signed up it would be like I was allowing myself to have an addiction, so was very afraid ;-D. So turned out I was right! But hey, it's a very, very, fun kind of craving and if I ever feel the need for an intervention, I'll contact Dr. Drew right away! And again, rufluvr, nice to know you're from the same 'hood as me!
