That would have been a great idea, GE2! I wish you'd directed the series instead!

Ha-ha! If I had, it would've been a Rufus monologue! ;D Eight hours of him sitting in a squishy armchair next to a roaring log fire, reading the book to us......hey, now that's a thought!

I've read TPOE, and I think it would take waaaay longer than 8 hrs. to read it aloud, which actually, would be just fine ("No, honey, I can't stop watching Rufus right now. I know it's been 20 hours, but we're only on page 598!")
My copy came this week on Netflix (got to watch the first episode on a Starz free preview when it premiered, but had to wait til now for the rest..) and I was watching the dreaded episode 4 last night....the funny thing is, the scene where Tom was talking with Jack and Alfred about never stop learning and who would inherit his tools...I couldn't stop thinking about the cap-its from the 2010 b-day card!
I was amused and mildly disturbed at the same time.

Apparently I am! My hubs was watching with me, and I had to try really hard not to ...it would have been too hard to try and explain it.

Just listening to Ken Follet on the radio - he's here promoting his new book.
I sent a text asking the interviewer to ask him when Pillars will be broadcast here, and he said as far as he knows it will be NEXT APRIL and on cable. Thank goodness i've already seen it (and have the DVD!!!)
He also talked a little about Pillars and said that he didn't like Rufus because all the women in his family go weak at the knees when he comes on screen (I have a comment to make here but have self moderated myself!!)
;D

Dish Satellite Network is giving Starz for free for a year to celebrate 30 years in business. I can't believe my luck, now I can see Tom the Builder without having to pay for a premium movie subscription.
I was able to see the first 2 episodes last Friday. I actually watched them again on Saturday, since Rufus was on camera so much. Can't wait to see the next 2, although I can see Rufus' part will not be so prominent as the episodes continue.
