"Seth and his mother" LOL! You're absolutely right! I wonder if Roof broke into his "Seth voice" when he saw her?

A beautiful church and a very nice picture of Roof in that brown jacket.

Told you that I wouldn’t get to write again till this evening. Nell’s report is pretty comprehensive so I’ll just fill in a few gaps. I arrived at the church around 6pm and saved us a place in the queue and Nell and her friend arrived just as the doors were about to open around 6,15pm. If we ever went again I think we would know to go upstairs and enter the left side of the church balcony and not the right and find seats in the middle. Yes. I think Roof was the last celebrity to arrive. We were hoping they might read by the choir stalls, but the men read from the pulpit and the women from the lectern. I don’t know what Roof’s beliefs are, but he did sing all the carol songs. Fortunately he was sitting on the end of his row and I could see him clearly. Roof greeted us afterwards with a kiss. >:(First of all he recognised Nell and kissed her and then turned to the side and recognised me and said something like ‘you too!’ and kissed me. He looked very surprised and quite pleased to see some supporters I think. Nell did very well with her questions, though I couldn’t hear everything they were saying, but although he was mostly talking to Nell and answering her questions, Roof kind of kept turning to me, so I wouldn’t be left out and I was very impressed with that. He also signed my programme, but didn’t write my name so when I asked him to, he put an arrow above my name and then said ‘Don’t know why I put the arrow there.’ I kind of get why he did that now, maybe he thought he’d written Roof! Thank you gemanlady for those photo links. Shame they are watermarked, but I’m pleased to have a reminder of a great evening. I asked Jack Whitehall a couple of questions and then chatted to Bill. OT: A few years ago Bill and I used to write to each other. I was the first to do something about him online and he used to help me with the biography. Later a couple of girls from Germany made more comprehensive sites, which was fine by me as I am busy with my other websites. The Bill Nighy Experience was made official, but it hasn’t been updated and Bill said he thought that one of the girls had been ill. I had never met him before so that was also rather nice.

I confess I had no idea who Jack Whitehall is, but he's cute.
It's like name the co-star there! Bill Nighy (Arcadia), Eileen Atkins (CCF), Tara Fitzgerald (AMONI).
Nice photos.

Rai Jack is a young comedian. I know him best from two TV shows Would I Lie to You and Mock the Week, both comedy quiz shows. He is only 22 and very talented.

Nell and anniem, what a wonderful time you two have had, and how nice he is! I'm really glad for the both of you (and thanks for the secondhand joy!)
Rufus should do his future interviews with the two of you - that way at least we get decent, reliable information.

Here's the page from my programme showing Roof's reading. The Nativity Play by John Betjeman. It's funny hubby has a photo of me hugging a bronze statue of John Betjeman in St Pancras station. I know it was a statue but he just looked so huggable ! ;D It was great to read anniem's account too. It's funny about the jacket though it looked more sage green last night but it does look brown in these pics. I can vouch that he did look fabulous though ! Great find with the pics germanlady - I searched earlier and found nothing. Thanks for posting.

Well done Nell and Annie and a big thank you for sharing your evening with us. About the jacket Nell, do you remember when Roof appeared on the Breakfast show, how we disagreed about the colour of his jacket ? I wonder if it is the same one?
