Thanks, Famke and Ellie--You're both fabulous!!! I have contended all along that he's just misunderstood. He was really very sensitive, and his inability to express that sensitivity in that age of macho men led him to horrific acts.... I must see this film...Rufus looks gorgeous but I need to see the film to get the whole 'feel' for him (!!) On another note, has anyone noticed his swagger when he walks? Of course you all have...I'm sure every iota of this man has been microscopically examined down to the minutest of detail!!!

I've only seen it on Youtube (think it's still available there), which is probably not the best way to see it. Or maybe it is, since I was not at all impressed with Helen or Paris, and I could skim through their parts. Rufus was definitely the very best part of the movie, and I'm not just saying that as a Rufus fan. There were a few other good performances, but his stood far above the others. He created a real person, which was not easy to do given the cliched script.
So, Ellie, you're suggesting that we all watch Rufus a little more closely to observe his swagger? It will be a hardship, but I'll try!!

Of course you all have...I'm sure every iota of this man has been microscopically examined down to the minutest of detail!!! oh you would not believe. so far we have studied his hair, his scars, his hands, his feet, his buttocks, his paunch, his crotch, his eyes, his smile, his dancing, his legs, his accents, his characters, his relationships with female actresses, his kindness with fans, his love of photography, his delinquant youth, his make-up (!), his beard, his hipbones, his nose, his clothes, his son, his girlfriends, his buddies, his voice, his talent, his gaze/glare, his fidgeting, his humour, his humility, his lack of celebrity, his places of residence, his singing, his complexion, his cheekbones, his eyelashes, his brows, his interviews, his brother, his lovemaking in movies, his intelligence, his beauty, his taste for stolen sandwiches, his agent, his bad movies, his good movies, his poetry readings, his "jet set "appearances, his rumoured peepings into this here board, his use of alcohol, his quotes, his portraits, his being naked and wet in movies, his obvious superiority to james franco and tom cruise, his never playing heathcliff, his tv series, his being secretely in love with me, his elegance, his sexiness, his piano playing, his laughter, etc... but i dont beleive we ever addressed his swagger. we are repenting, all of us. how on earth could we not address his swagger? i probably will, but, first, back to my dvd collection... where does he swagger the most, the least, the more sexily, threateningly, nonchalantly, not at all... i thought i had seen everything... now i wonder! |

 How the .....He!! Did I miss that before!!!  ? OMGGGG...someone help me. That was AWESOME!!!! Just all the best tidbits of the 'misunderstood' Greek king. One gripe: MORE SCENES FROM THE BATH PLEASE. Yes! The swagger! and it is especially exaggerated as Argie.  Do you realize what you have started Ellie? This analysis could take pages! We'll all look up from our screens one day and say, "Is summer over already?" Some fantastic person has put some EH clips up on Youtube, and this one (from Containment) shows a bit of the swagger at the beginning and the end of the scene.
