(Even if I haven't really found out what exactly makes blood-stained, half-drowned Rufus so darn sexy ...) It's the thought of cleaning him up. ;D beaglelover7: Have discovered that being 31 you start swooning over all the men you fancied as a teenager, but in a " new" way. Rufus Sewell...sigh... ) This made me laugh. It's even possible at this very age to fall in love with him if you didn't even know he existed when you were a teenager LOL--Or even older than 31! I never acted like this about any of my teenage crushes. My teenage self would probably be horrified by my lack of restraint. Nothing to do with Zen...but had to laugh at the driving tweets. Maybe he doesnt know which side of the road he is supposed to be on. Id take my chances with him in the car though. LOL! You're right--it's all that transatlantic travel confusing him. I volunteer to help him steer.

Reassuring to hear that I'm not alone (I guess people around me who have noticed my massive crush on the lovely Rufus don't recognize me ... I NEVER was so badly into any star as a teenager ...)

vikkiheat: Watching Rufus Sewell in Zen is making me all nostalgic for Eleventh Hour. That was a good show, cancelled too early. Now can we have more of those? Maybe it'll have effect this time around (or should we ask Hugh Bonneville).

I could be wrong, but we all know what an impression Rufus' "baddies" have made--such a strong one he kept getting cast over and over...so I can't help wondering if maybe some of these people's opinions (and tweets) of him isn't stupidly colored their rememberance of his past villian roles? Whatya think? For it seems to me that anyone in the acting/theater community, or who have met him, has read his interviews, or is truly familiar with vast body of work wouldn't post sh** like that.

Exactly and what the devil is Hugh Bonneville all about. That sounds a little sick to me. I am afraid I do not know him.

rufluvr, I think you've got a point there. The snide remarks probably did come from people who wouldn't recognize good acting skills if they jumped right into their faces.

I am afraid I do not know him. vmaciv, he's an actor, and I don't think he was being nasty, just having a bit of fun, and he wasn't part of the commentiing about Zen. He only said (before the programmes began) something like "Zen or Marple? One has exotic locations and beautiful people. The other has Rufus Sewell". It was just a bit of friendly rivalry/banter - he was in Marple that night. I think he's a friend of Rufus.

A tweet from his drama school:
Central_CSSD: We're loving Central alumnus Rufus Sewell in BBC1's #zen #centralalumni
Isn't that sweet?

I have no problem with Hugh Bonneville's tweets, which were good humored and actually complementary, (the joke being that Zen has both exotic locations and obviously a beautiful person- Rufus Sewell)
What gets my goat is the various people, and this predates Zen, who tweet about their stong aversion to Rufus for no real or rational reason. Or just because they may not have liked the "baddie" characters he's played in the past. What, do they want, some kind medal for blindly not liking someone? It's just wierd. Can you tell I come from a liberal family where judging and criticizing others was considered the nadir of existence? Ha ha.
I mean, I can admit for myself it took a long time after seeing "Silence of the Lambs" before I could even THINK of Anthony Hopkins and NOT have his "fava beans" onscreen moment run through my mind. But I know better than to confuse the actor with his role...
