I checked Wikipedia's Zen page en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zen_(TV_series). They actually must have used the overnight figures for Ratking, because when I clicked on the link supplied for the weekly ratings, it was higher (5.21) than the number they showed (4.39). www.barb.co.uk/report/weeklyTopProgrammesOverview/?So the final figures were: Vendetta, 6.24 million (ranked 20th on BBC 1 that week) Cabal, 5.64 million (ranked 17th) Ratking, 5.21 million (ranked 22nd) The drop for Ratking is a tiny bit worrisome, except when you consider the following: The number 1 show each of those 3 weeks is Eastenders, and its numbers also dropped the 3rd week (from 11.10 million the week of Vendetta to 10.72 million the week of Ratking). Obviously then the viewing numbers for all the other top 20 shows must have dropped too. Probably because the first shows were during a holiday week, when more people were home. Surely the BBC will take that kind of thing into account.

Not sure what to think of these numbers. How do they compare to Wallander and Sherlock or other series that continued on? I guess I am used to a different scale. Hope these numbers are good enough to get more Zen!!

Judging by the tweets, a lot of people were watching Zen on the i-Player. The audience figures for Sherlock were higher, but also tailed off by the third episode.
Rueful, thanks for the info. I think you're probably right about viewing figures being higher the first week because people were still at home for the holidays.
Hopefully we'll know soon what the BBC intend to do.

I think the fall in numbers for 'Ratking' might be due to the final part of the Godawful 'dancing on ice' being shown at 9.30 on ITV.

Thanks for that information, Frannie. I'm sure the decision makers will consider that too then!

I am a little disappointed in the ratings because a downward trend is not good but I did see more positive Blogs posted on the show specifically for Ratking. I am hoping that BBC will consider that and the DVD sales

Dreamer posted a hopeful hint at the Aurelio Zen thread...that a season 2 is in development.
