Hi Ladies, some days ago I send an e-mail to the German ZDF asking for information about broadcast of "Zen". Received the following answer: "thank you for your e-mail to the ZDF. We are co-partners in Aurelio Zen. According to the responsible editor, the films are so far not yet synchronized. Broadcast dates are not fixed yet. We will do this in good time in the press and our program listings." What a pity, the ZDF is really lagging behind. My thanks to BBC and its iplayer.  Good thing that the DVD will be supplied next week by amazon UK.   |

typical german TV - yesterday I received the three "Zen" books.... of course with Roof on the cover... next week the DVD.... and I don't need the german TV... I know, that the translation and voices will be horrible !!!!!!!!!!!

I'm very glad in my country movies are seldom synchronized, but only subtitled. I found it very difficult to find an Englishspoken (non synchronized) movie while on holiday in Germany.

Oh, at least they are finally working on the synchronisation! I asked them some time in December and all they said was they didn't yet know when it would be broadcast at all. I'm convinced that Rufus's German voice won't be half as good as the original, but I'll still watch it because I want to convince Mr. Kate that Rufus CAN play good and funny guys. (And hopefully he'll fall for Caterina and want to go on watching ) Germany is one of the few countries where practically everything gets dubbed. Which is good for people who hate subtitles or don't speak English but a pity for everyone else ... Just hope they won't make too many translation mistakes, sometimes the translation is painfully bad with lots of mistakes a third-year English student can easily recognize. |

In an italian article they said:
"Aurelio Zen" inspired by Michael Dibdin novels, is producted by BBC with partnership of Mediaset for Italy, of ZdF for Germany and of Pbs for USA.
And yes, I'm frightened too about the synchronization in Italy, even though the italian actors are very good, often Rufus' voice is really far from his. I'd like to see it with the italian subtitles, even if, being ZEN a novel about an Italian story, I'd like also to see how it sounds in italian.

I wrote two emails to the German ZDF, one in May and one in yesterday and asked when Zen would be broadcasted. The answer was always the same: they don't have a date when Zen will be aired, but they will announce it in time when they know. -
I'm glad I've got the dvd and do not have to wait for the ZDF.
Perhaps they deserve a nickname: how about "zero date factory"? ;D
