Have to decide if I should get the region 2 or wait for the region 1 to come out. I bought an inexpensive dvd player a long while back that we thought would be able to play region 2, but it didn't work. And I already have a somewhat decent Sony dvd player that hasn't exploded yet, so I don't think I yet want to spring for a new good one that plays both regions. Hmmm. Decisions, decisions. I wish Zen could be accessed via youtube--especially since it has already aired in England on a free channel. My attempts to use stagevu and expat sheild didn't work on the computer avail to me. It's really nice to hear that there is a nice "behind the scenes" extras section to look forward to though on the Zen dvds--thanks for the info!

Hi rufluvr, I am kin with you! I can't use stagevu or expat shield either. Am waiting for my region 2 DVD from Amazon UK (it can take 4 weeks) and I'm supposed to be able to make my new DVD player region free, so here's to fingers crossed! I will let you know if it works. I even read Zen is now available on iTunes, but of course not in the US. Oh why must we be tortured like this? '-D

a while back I posted a link to a site that can help you make your dvd player region free.... www.wisebread.com/make-your-dvd-player-region-free-in-secondshopefully it will help some of you that are still having trouble. I'm glad I ordered Vandetta at least from Amazon so I can watch the extras, but since my internet connection is less than ideal, I also downloaded torrents of all three episodes, no expat-sheild required. I think the site we used was thepiratebay.com, then I converted them to ISO files using DVD Flick (a free download) and burned them to dvds.....watched Ratking again today on the big HD tv and the quality wasn't too bad. Sometimes the audio was a bit out of sync, but much better than I was getting with the iplayer. If this info helps anyone through their Zen withdrawal, it was all worth it!

When I ordered it, I didn't read the fine print below that it was region 2, I thought it was region free and at the least I did make sure it's not a blue ray (after Dark City, won't make that mistake again!!!). So, there I was sort of doing Dominique selfswearing at Tucchio...........
Why do they come up with regions or why can't all dvds be region free??? (I know why but just feel like venting it out my frustated brain!) The worst of watching Rufus' works is that region 2 seemed to be much better than region 1. I've told my friend in England that I might be at her door step one of these days with bunch of Ruf's reg 2 dvds....well at least that's a good excuse just to visit her ;D ;D ;D

(I'll echo my displeasure about the regionalizing of DVDs!! Grrrrr.) But on a happier note, UPS tracking shows that my DVD is out for delivery to my home TODAY! So I expect to find a nice little package sitting on my front step when I get home from work!

I think my dvd player somehow knew it was being talked about because I went to use it yesterday and it wouldn't work! Ha. It just said "cannot play disc" so of course I tried two others and it said the same thing. Not sure how to fix it but I do know one thing--if I have to get a new one I will make sure it plays all regions.

UPS is taunting me with "out for delivery" as the status on my Amazon package. They usually deliver my stuff late in the evening.
I think I will have to sit on the bench by the front door and await the delivery person.
I wanna see the extras!

Hi there, I am new to the site. Joined couple weeks ago but still learning how to use it. I ordered the Zen DVD prior to the release date here which was 21 January and I received it on 22 which was great. I have watched them all now but alas I have lost my remote control for my DVD player so cannot play the extras which is so annoying. My DVD player is a few years old so will probably have to buy a new one so that I can watch the extras.... Robela

Watched my Zen DVD yesterday, and I mean all three movies... (Have to watch it again to decide which one will be my favorite.)
Definitely love the extra which is a 30 minute collection of insights from various people from the cast and crew. Of course Rufus gets a good share of time and attention.

Received the DVD of "Zen" yesterday and have seen all them again in the evening... the "Making of" is fantastic too... especially to hear and see Roof at the wall and talking about "Zen" ....

Just watched the Making Of. Ohhh, how nice. And interesting. And again beautiful pictures. Loved not only the fact that there was so much Roof in it but also what the others said about him. Of course, there's never a bad word on anyone in those featurettes, but as always it seemed genuinely felt that he's simply a great person who makes everyone feel at ease around him And he's just so funny, e.g. when he said "They didn't wear their seatbelts" (about the car crash in "Ratking" ) Andy Harries seems to be a nice guy, too. And thank God for his gut feeling that Roof would be the perfect Zen when he saw him in RnR!
