This news made me very happy! I had posted about my ... er ... admiration for Mr. Cavill a bit over a year ago in the thread called "Confessions" and just posted this follow-up earlier today.

I am very happy for him too! He cought my attention in T&I as he was so adorable in I Capture the Castle.
Do you remember back then Judy; a TV show "Superboy"? the actor was John Newton and that's whom Cavill reminds me of when I first saw him. Kinda funny in a way that he's now going to play Superman.

That's pretty cool! I liked Cavill in "The Tudors" (and only belatedly realized that he'd been in T&I *shame on me* He would have made a better Tristan, by the way!)

So I'm obsessing over the new trailer for Superman - Man Of Steel. I hadn't realised they were remaking the original movie. Has anyone else seen it? Liked it? Hated it? Thought Rufus would have been a much better choice for General Zod than Michael Shannon?

I'm stoked at Cavill in the role of Superman, I hope he leaves more of an impression on me this time. I thought he was a little boring in The Immortals.

As for General Zod, I'm gonna miss Terence Stamp. I need a pointy, sinister, quietly psychotic General Zod, not the Giant Ham I'm afraid Michael Shannon will turn out to be.

I like the way Cavill says 'It's not an S' - there's a little bit of the playful Christopher Reeve in it.

I did like the remake of Spiderman, surprisingly enough, so I may see this as well. Trailer looks good.
