Hello! This is a bit of a delayed hello, but I wasn't quite brave enough to start an introduction thread before! However this seems like a very friendly place so I'm gradually getting braver with posting Anyway, like a few others, I lurked for a while before joining - I have to do things in baby steps it seems. I've been a fan of the lovely Rufus for a while, since I saw Charles and TOTS on tv (still one of my favourite shows/films ever!). I wasn't really internet-savvy back then though, so I didn't really try searching for any fansites. I also saw AKT and LoZ over the years, but it wasn't until I watched the Tourist at the end of last year that I was reminded of how much I liked him (it's amazing what he can do with a small part), and then the following week started watching Zen and became hooked! Now I'm just trying to catch up with everything I can, and waiting impatiently for Amazon to deliver some dvd goodies I look forward to getting to know you all more, and of course, lots more Roof discussion/pics/news etc!

Welcome aboard Rousse It is indeed a very friendly place and I was too quite a lurker of RoofTop even after I joined in.....but one must give in eventually and I'm so glad I did and you will be too for sure TOTS is one of my best too!!! Marke and Petrucchio (I might have to add Mick) are my fav characters. I've been busy ordering from Amazon too and I believe soon enough there will be nothing left I could order from them unless Rufus got new projects ;D Looking forward posting with you

Welcome from me also Rousse, I found Rufus at the same time as you. Charles II, but then my interest faded because did not see him in much other stuff (although I have to say he was alway lurking at he back of my mind). I missed TOTS but did see Middlemarch. It wasn't until I saw the trailers for Zen which was shown here starting just after Christmas when the Rufusitus re-infected me bigtime. Therefore I am a Rookie on here but everyone is so friendly and helpful and mad about Rufus. Look forward to sharing Rufusitus with you! ;D ;D

>:(Welcome to the Rooftop, Rousse! I think we all started lurking a little bit before registering. My first meeting with Rufus was Middlemarch, followed by TOTS. Among my favourite Rufus films are The Woodlanders, In A Savage Land and Victory. And if you are also interested in audio tapes, there's one The Woodlanders read by Rufus - IMHO it's more moving than the film.

Hello Rousse! Welcome to the Rufus madhouse! I guess I was the only one who plunged right into the forum without much lurking - I was home alone a whole weekend long and had just rediscovered this wonderful green-eyed man, so I needed some place to gush about him Have fun and don't hesitate to join the discussion on any topic!

I kind of plunged straight in but I only originaly registered to ask the forum a question after seeing Eleventh hour but after the friendly responses I recieved I was hooked on here. I have been a fan of Rufus on off since I was 17 (I fell for him before I'd even met my husband) and I am 33 now. I have been to see him in theartre 3 times, Arcadia, Macbeth and Rock 'n' Roll. When I saw Arcadia I didn't know it was him but thought he was cute and it wasn't until I went to see Macbeth that I realise he was the same man. Anyway welcome, I know you are going to love it here, I know I do.

Thank you everyone! And thank you for the audiotape tip, walt I haven't listened to audiotapes in a while, but I used to to help me sleep. I should really get back into them, I read about 9 of the Bond books before petering out a bit, so maybe instead of reading them I should listen! Although to get to see him on stage would be amazing... Still, hopefully sometime in the future. I love how even then when you didn't know who he was he still stood out to you dippy - some actors just seem to do that in plays, you can tell when they're something special! P.S. I have to agree with you on Mick, sewellme, he might be added to my favourites soon too!

Rousse,
Can I steal a bit of your limelight to introduce me here as well?
I’m Tessa, I live close to Brussels. Originally I was born in the Netherlands.
I have been on fan sites before and I have seen all the friendly-in-your-face-but-up-yours-when-you-are-not-online antics that when I fell onto this site, thanks to google, I was willing to lurk but not to post. Until today, obviously…
I saw Rufus on the BBC breakfast show, made a note to myself because I like everything that is linked to Italy, and saw bits of Vendetta whilst sorting out washing and other household thingies.
Once I sat down I liked it enough, to view it again next Sunday - and then the Rufus charm hit me. I checked out this site, and to my astonishment I found out that he played in my favourite Shakespaere’s play TOTS retold.
I have used You Tube these past few weeks to watch Cold Farm (funny!) Meet Martha and… (I don’t get it, after part 5 I gave up) and Charles II is like a bowl of ice cream; take a few bites and it is back into the freezer. But the absolute -I need a hanky now- is the 9/11 poem.
From my lurking days you all seem like a nice bunch of people. I don’t bite, unless you ask me to.

Welcome on board, Tessa! Those behind-your-back attitudes are what I hate about many many forums and one of the reasons why I like this place so much I've never managed to re-watch the 9/11 poem completely, I get a big lump in my throat during the first five minutes. The one time I got through until the end I totally dissolved into tears. So heartbreakingly wonderful.

So heartbreakingly wonderful. Nope, I couldn't watch it totally the first time. Emotionally it was hard work to watch it all.
