Yesterday Frannie posted the wonderful Ode to a Beautiful Nude and I would like to continue it with two things. When I first met with this Rufus reading, I was impressed not only by his voice and his passionate interpretation , but the beauty of the English language. I've found the original poem on the Youtube, just for fun, if you want to try the Spanish Oda a la Bella Desnuda: www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3OzSs4Klik(I know there is no need to post the English version, but I want to write down the name of Rufus again ;D, so this is the poem read by Rufus: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bgmOQrAOh8 ) The other thing is the music. It is from the film, Il Postino. Sometimes I'm similar to a child and I think everybody knows what I know, but if this film is not known by everybody, then try it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oya007_Q5_AThis is a really good film.

Thank you adina for the additional info about the poem. I have listened to it several times now The music is lovely too and I remember very fondly the film "Il postino". One of the most beautiful films I have ever seen with the wonderful Massimo Troisi who sadly passed away much too early just after finishing the film.

Thanks for that interesting background info! I listened to the poem yesterday on my new iPod. So beautiful - just a pity that it's so short
