It was interesting to read the LA Times article about the show because of the involvement of the film's screenwriter, Jeannine Dominy. She was dismayed at how the film had been edited and warped to make it "happier and more Hollywood." It sounds a lot like Roof's dissatisfaction with how the film turned out. (I'll bet Rufus had to stop himself from tapping his foot. Heaven forbid he actually like a musical!)  |

Thanks for finding these, PGG! They're fantastic! Love the pic with the little smile. My, he looks handsome!  But.....Rufus? At a musical? I love the fact that he's admitted to hating most musicals (although I usually like them myself). You'd think he'd be open to all sorts of entertainment or at least pretend to be, being an actor, but instead he still seems like such a GUY. Don't know if that makes sense, but I just think it's great. |

I tried to Google the source but I can't find it quickly - but I remember well that he once said he preferred the initial title "The Honest Courtesan".
