Hello to everyone on this fabulous board, I'm Charliegirl from the UK. I first noticed Rufus in Charles II and straight after it finished I googled him and couldn't believe that I hadn't noticed him before, especially in Middlemarch, as I am also a huge period drama fan and have seen most of them going? Charles II is still a favourite of mine, together with Taming of the Shrew and I adored him in Zen.....very, very hot! Due to my workload, unfortunately, I will not be able to log in on a daily basis but hopefully will try to check in as much as I can but am looking forward to exploring this board a little further as and when I can. Charliegirl

Welcome, Charliegirl! Charles II is where Rufus caught my attention, too, and is my favourite Rufus role (I know that may come as a shock to my fellow Rooftoppers.......not! ;D), with TOTS another favourite. And Zen, of course. And Higher Love/ Uncorked. I hope you have fun exploring and do join us when you can......although you might find you end up spending more time here than you intended......

Welcome to the Rufus madhouse, Charliegirl! My first encounter with Rufus was in "Tristan & Isolde", then I neglected the poor boy for years until he resurfaced in my mind in "The Pillars of the Earth". From then on, I got mightily hooked and have watched a lot of his films within a few months. Charles II , the Taming and Zen are among my great favourites, too. Have fun on the Rooftop!

Welcome to the Rooftop Charliegirl. I have to warn you, this place can be dangerous to your pocketbook - as you yield to the lure of buying Rufus DVDs, audiobooks, books, etc. But, then again, he's worth it.

Welcome to the Rooftop, Charliegirl!
I wonder if you'll also like "The Woodlanders", "In A Savage Land" and "Victory"? But you may also like "The Illusionist" and "Hamlet" (be warned, Rufus's part in Hamlet is a very small one, but it's a very opulent costume drama)?

Charliegirl? Victorygirl? Fangirl? What is this?... I declare Parliament dissolved. Gentlemen, go home. I will not trouble you any further… Hey, girls, I'm coming! Huh! Let there be no confusion. Charles II is me for these girls, and no man may alter it. Anyone who denies this truth makes themselves an enemy of the Rooftop. Think on that before you take another step towards chaos. Real Charles, go home! Welcome, Charliegirl!

Welcome Charliegirl, Welcome to another Rufus fan. I agree with GE2 you will probably get hooked and find yourself spending more time on here than you ought to and spending more money buying dvd's and anything else you can get your hands on which Rufus has been involved in. Like you I was hooked when I watched Charles II although I had seen him in Middlemarch. (must have had my eyes closed). Have since caught up with a lot of his previous work and now Zen is amazing. All the fangirls on here are really lovely and friendly and we all have something in common, we love and admire Rufus Sewell. My particular favourite at the moment is TOTS am quite hooked on it and keep watching over and over again. Love it. Have fun

robela, "Woodlanders" and "In a Savage Land" are extremely difficult to find in Region 2. I found a Woodlanders DVD at amazon Marketplace UK for a somewhat reasonable price and was lucky to get IASL from ebay (under the Spanish title "En una tierra salvaje", but with the English soundtrack).

Welcome charliegirl - great name ;D I'm sure you will end up spending more time here than you expected. I only recently joined after having rediscovered Rufus first in Pillars and then in Zen. But I've known him since Middlemarch in the mid-nineties. Somehow he never managed to get me completely hooked on him until Zen. Love CHarles II too - one of his best roles and I'm catching up with all his other films now. Looking forward to see you around the board

I had the same problem, but after finding out that I had a codefree DVD player, I've ordered both via a friend in the USA. Best is always to check Amazon or ebay. The other day I saw an offer for a reasonable priced Uncorked/Higher Love on ebay.
