After checking the message board daily for a while, I figured it was time to join. You know, it's funny, I've always noticed Rufus in movies, but he never REALLY got to me until this year. I saw Pillars of the Earth, then googled him...and WHAM! I'm hooked....LOL. I think a lot of it has to do with seeing youtube videos that show what a charming and genuinely nice guy he is (on top of being a most gorgeous man...) He has a common hobby of photography with me, which I think is too cool. I've already started my Rufus collection - waiting on Middlemarch and The Eleventh Hour series to arrive from Amazon as we speak. I hope someday I can get a chance to get the Zen movies too. I'm glad to be here!

Hello and welcome! Glad you decided to join us finally. Having lurked around a bit already, you will have noticed that this is a very nice community and a wonderful opportunity to gush on and on about the green-eyed wonder without anyone rolling their eyes My Rufusitis went pretty much the same way as yours ... I'd seen and loved him in "Tristan & Isolde", but it was not until the Pillars on German TV last November that I had my WHAM! moment. I haven't seen Eleventh Hour yet, but I liked Middlemarch a lot. Finest eye candy And do get "Zen", it's beautifully shot, exciting to watch and also very hilarious. Which of Rufus's films did you like best so far? Ellen, come on, please don't be angry ... you know you're the only one for me, but dedicated fangirls deserve that I welcome them personally on board. Have fun on the Rooftop, arkansasred!

Welcome AR
Yours is a very familiar story. It's funny it was EH that brought Rufus to my attention - I realised I'd seen him before in Knights Tale. The accent threw me a bit initially. I googled him and found Taming of the Shew on You tube. TOTS is still my favourite followed by Charles 2. I envy your new discovery it seems a long wait between new work right now. Ok so it's only a month and a half but it seems like forever.
You share common interest with a few Rooftoppers in your photography. My hubby is a photographer too. I usually curse the lugging around of masses of camera gear. I don't mind when it brings me Rufus pics though.
Enjoy yourself here.

Hi Red (can I call you that?) Welcome to the Rooftop! I am another who spotted Rufus in Eleventh Hour and after visiting his IMDB page realized I had seen and admired him in several things throughout the years. It was kind of like this: Doh. This is the same guy I thought was hilarious in Cold Comfort Farm and who made me swoon in Middlemarch?!? Jeez. How could I have been so oblivious?!? Have fun poking around in all the threads. There is a wealth of great information (along with a great deal of silliness) to be found! Not to mention lots of photos of the sexiest, most talented actor on the planet: Judy

Welcome arkansasred Good of you to join. My Rufus revelation was Zen - but I have known and liked Rufus before, dating back to Middlemarch in the 90ies. But it never really hit me until Zen. Now I'm still catching up with everything I've missed. Hope to see you around the board.

nell You lucky dog! (haha). Welcome, Red. My holy cr*p moment was Pillars of the Earth. There is no known cure for this affliction we call "Rufusitis", but nobody here is complaining....

Welcome to The Rooftop, Arkansasred! Glad you decided to de-lurk and join us! Charles II is my favourite role of his. You might want to get a region-free DVD player for the hard-to-get titles, but it'll be worth it, believe me! Enjoy!

Welcome, what can I add? Have fun here and have fun discovering Rufus. I have been a fan for years but I didn't find this site until Eleventh Hour.

Welcome to the Rooftop Red. You'll enjoy EH - 18 episodes with Rufus front and center in each and every one. Zen will be shown in this country on PBS sometime this summer/early fall. Enjoy yourself here.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! (And yes, you can call me Red...) I don't have a standout favorite movie yet. I'm playing catch up to see them all! I really liked Pillars of the Earth and loved him in Tristan and Isolde (I know she was in love with Tristan already, but I would have been thrilled to see Lord Mark as I stepped out of the carriage!). I never saw EH when it was on, so I'm really looking forward to watching it. It looks like it would be an interesting show - and Rufus in the lead for every episode is awesome! It's good to find a place where I have friends that understand my Rufisitis! Funny how I'm a grown-up and have such a major crush! He's my new boyfriend! HA! Wichiwoman, with the way we've been playing basketball, there's no telling how bad you'll beat us! Question - Do I need to open a flickr or photobucket account to get an avatar picture?
