OH!! MY!!! GOD!! Famke! My Dear! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! (...).. for posting those fantastic pics!! Aaargh!!! I luuuuuv him sooo much as Adhemar!! That's exactly what I have been searching for.. I love everything in him.. his gestures, his eyes, his curls, the way he speaks, the way he looks at you... Gosh! Such a nice, warm ending of a hard, unpleasant day (my, I was very close to depression today, not kidding) But you saved me! Didn't I say, that Rufus Sewell is my cure for EVERYTHING?! But Gosh, I felt so sorry for him, when he was relating about all those hardships he had to go through during the filming (jousting scenes, hot, heavy armour, cuts and bruises( myy, I can imagine how exhausted he was:( Surely it must have affected his health somehow. Soooo yummy!!! Thanks again, Famke, YOUR"E B R I L L I A N T *btw I've dreamt of Adhemar last night... We were riding on a horse through the fields, making our way towards a gothic castle... T'was fantastic..

Yes of course!! I really like when my friends call my Gabby (vel Gabi) And I agree with you in 100%! Definitively too much jousting scenes, (WTH, knocking each others helmets off, rolling on the muddy ground, over and over again) they should really add up some more scenes with our beloved beloved beloooooveeeed!!! Roofie instead Arrrggh! If I could only snuggle against his black jacket!!! (Of course If I wouldn't in the first place after spotting him on the street or camp.. or elsewhere:D:D:D Roof, I will be NEVER able to describe enough, how much I ADOOOOORE YOU!!!! Hugs *I wish I could write a scenario of Knights Tale 2 someday, with Count Adhemar aaaaand! Princess Gabriela! Geeeeeeeeee!!!! ;D ;D ;D

Take deep breaths, Gabi. Deep breaths. The wonderful thing about having him on film is that we get to go back and look, over and over again, as needed. But don't get your heart racing again--maybe you should look at a non-Adhemar picture for a while. Thanks for the links to all the great pictures!

I only saw this movie for the first time last weekend (yes I always am a bit late hehe ;D) I was a little surprised though to find a rather review here at the start of the topic, but oh well tastes vary I have truly enjoyed this film (I watched the extended version) I find it a totally refreshing approach of the "knights genre". Love the music, the stunning dresses, all of it... Would have loved to see Rufus in the role of Paul Bettany though

This is also one of my favorite Rufus movies. I don't care if the movie was good, bad,or whatever, Rufus was soooo hot in this movie. Too bad Heath is no longer with us. I would like to see a rematch!!
Maybe if we are all good girls we will get a Count Adhemar from Santa for Christmas .... or a Mick, or a Lord Mark. Well, I'm not picky. I'll take Rufus any way I can get him.
Now be good, girls. Santa's watching!

I love this movie! It's fun and funky, and I've seen it many times. And I actually like that it's set to rock music, although Jocelyn's outfits were a bit much! It wasn't meant to be Oscar worthy or a lesson in history, but just a light-hearted film aimed at a certain generation of Renaissance Fairing people...like me!

Mr. Kate and I watched AKT last night, and I couldn't stop laughing from the very beginning. It's so wonderfully absurd and silly Not a historical movie to be taken seriously but just some great fun with medieval imagery and great music. The "We will rock you" scene is just so cool! And the name "Ulrich of Lichtenstein" made me laugh every time it was mentioned, particularly when William asks if someone has died and Chaucer says "Ulrich of Lichtenstein" I really liked Heath Ledger and his gang, particularly Chaucer and Roland. I didn't care for Shannyn Sossamon too much (while I liked Kate a lot), but she was quite OK and her costumes fantastic, giving the whole thing a nice 20th century twist. And of course Rufus looks gorgeous in his black clothes and his fierce glare. Adhemar is not the most complex character he has played, but he brings him to life very nicely and believably (Mr. Kate actually hated him! Now I'll have to make him watch T&I or the Woodlanders or something ...) It's clearly visible why the typecasting trap opened for him. I also loved the scene after the last fight when he's on his back with William and his posse bending over him and paying him back in his own words ;D Or the dancing scene ;D The moment when he leaves the hall angrily and almost trips on the step was priceless. Unfortunately my DVD didn't have the "topless" scene But there's the "Making of", at least. Amazing how different he looks when he's got the "normal" look on his face, not Adhemar's piercing stare It's not at the very top of my Rufus hit list because I prefer his more three-dimensional roles, but I liked the film altogether as it was original, funny and wonderfully anachronistic. As good as he is as Adhemar, I think I would have liked him even more in Chaucer's role which he said in some interview he'd been thinking about (just imagine him walking down that path in his birthday suit ) Oh, and could please someone convince Mr. Kate that Rufus does not look like ... dare I say it ... Sylvester Stallone?!
