Since the page has turned, can I just remind everyone to e-mail here to request a repeat for the 10th anniversary in September: www.channel5.com/contact-us And here to request that it's released on DVD: info@silverriver.tv If enough of us contact both places, we might get lucky!

Thank you, GE2! I saw the thread only because you bumped it now. I would have missed it otherwise. Now I will sending my emails to both places, even though I live in a country where I probably will not be able to see the film if it is repeated.
I saw this production on youtube and manage to save the four parts on my computer.I know it is not fare, but if there is no other way we will have to play unfair. If anyone is interested in having it that way can send me a message. It is probably obvious I cant't have a valid opinion on the subject since it affected another country all together, but I remember it clearly because it happened during my first year of working in the movies and it was a memorable year for many reasons. The props master of the film was siting in his small, crowded, filled with cigarette smoke office and was so suddenly quiet, that only one of his many TVs was playing the news. Everyone who came past his place stopped and came inside and just stayed there, quiet and staring at the screen. I couldn't believe it was true. After that started the theories about what had really happened. Now I do not really think about the cause of the attack, I have my own opinion on that matter, but what I think is no mater the reasoning behind it, it will remain forever as a horrible and ugly act of terror. That is also the feeling I get from Rufus reading the poem- devastation and horror for all those lost human lives. Today I don't care much about the two destroyed buildings, even though as an architect I can not imagine what the feeling would be to see two of your most valued buildings destroyed! I know new ones will arise on their place like two symbols of hope for a better world. But as a total pacifist with enormous respect for life it was difficult for me to watch or listen to Rufus reading the lines. And I think it will always be that way. I feel it was ment to have this heart breaking message for peace and respect. And I am happy it was presented in such a delicate and powerful at the same time way by one of the best actors of our time.

I mailed both Channel 5 and Silver River a couple of years ago about this film. Channel 5 politely said no! but Silver River did not even acknowledge my mail. I have mailed both again today , am hoping for better results this time.

That's the point, though, Frannie - if enough of us ask, maybe they'll change their minds (fingers crossed), and in any case they might be more receptive if we try now, given that it's the 10th anniversary this year. Thanks for contacting them!
(Thank you, too, for your thoughts, Chocolate)

This is the reply I got today from Channel five>>>>>>
Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding 9/11: Out Of The Blue. We currently have no plans to repeat this programme and our broadcast rights are due to expire on 7th September 2011. As far as we are aware there are no plans to make the programme available on a commercial basis. Ultimately, the decision to release any programme commercially lies with the production company and not Channel 5. You may wish to get in touch with the company that made this programme for us in connection with your enquiry. Their contact details follow: Silver River Brook House 2-16 Torrington Place London WC1E 7HN info@silverriver.tv If there is anything further we can help you with, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you for your interest in Channel 5. Yours sincerely Steven
It looks as though we are out of luck this time and will have to continue to put up with youtube downloads. I await a reply from Silver river

Thanks, Frannie - that's pretty much what they told me, except the bit about when the rights run out.
I never did hear back from the production company, so hope you have better luck than me.

Thanks for trying and for letting us know that, Frannie.
I've emailed Silver River twice and haven't heard anything, maybe because it's just a general office email address.

Well considering the luck we'e had with Victoria Station - maybe we should all email Silver River, asking if they would consider a re-release to mark the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
