Look what GE2 and I found! I pm'd her to make sure it was OK to post since I didn't want to encroach on his private life. Here's snippets of our PM.... Quote: I was going to post it under "Other Rufus Stuff" but wasn't sure if I should. I found it today. This is a business of some type that Rufus is involved in apparently. www.corporationwiki.com/Californi....s/45073103.aspx<GE2's reply>... ! That's a find! How on earth did you happen across that?! I wonder if this is connected to the "one or two projects of my own" that Rufus mentioned in an interview a few months ago? Maybe he's raising finance via this company - I notice that Scott Jeffers, also an officer with Longvalley Films, is a Certified Public Accountant. I did some digging, and discovered there was a business called Longvalley Films in the UK, a public limited company that was "incorporated" in August 1967 but which has since been dissolved. Did some more digging, and guess whose company it was? His father's! See here (scroll down): 2p.weebly.com/index.html So if there was any doubt it is "our" Rufus, I think that's dispelled! <end GE2's reply> How cool is that?!?!? (Thanks GE2 for digging up some more info! )

YES!!!! RUFUS!!!! Oh my god, I am SO excited for him!!! Finally!!! Some seriously good things are going to come out of this, for sure and I'm so so so happy for him! Thanks so much for finding this, Wichi and GE2! (do you think it would be appropriate if any of us did a congratulations message in the birthday card about this or should we not since he hasn't actually confirmed it personally? Maybe not? )

All of you, lady-detectives, great job! Don't want to rain on your parade, but a company is not so difficult to have- old or new, the hard time comes when you try do things with and in it. A hint (for Rufus or someone with connection to him here)- there are some novels by Michael Dibdin. We were trying to get an audio version done with... uh...the persident's voice narrating?! Dibdin's wife is still around there somewhere- get in tough, and please do those 11 books? sorry, couldn't help it. i can be a real pain in the a**. and of course my fingers are also kept crossed at all times

How cool is that? I hope he'll be successful with many exciting projects of his own. (And yes, choc, why not start with one of those Zen novels that want to be filmed? ;D )

Great find, isn't it? But it's all down to Wichi - full credit to her. All I did was find the connection of the name to his dad's studio. I do agree with Chocolate - it's not so hard to set up a company, BUT the mere fact that he's done it is encouraging news. (Unless it's a tax dodge, of course - but even then, good on you, Rufus! ;D)

huhh, kind of cool. rufus as an entrepreneur. new role entirely. i DEFINITELY CAN picture him as a businessman, business suit and all. if you want something done it's better to do it yourself.

Thanks for posting that link, fzen. I got that screen too this morning when I tried it. Are you using Google Chrome? Do you sometimes get the page "He's dead, Jim" when Chrome has to shut down unexpectedly for some reason? Freaked me out the first time it happened to me. You have to be a Star Trek fan (the original series) to appreciate that! According to the link, the company started in May of 2008. You go, Rufus!!!

That's very cool! Excellent sleuthing there, Wichi & GE2! It may not be just a tax dodge. It may be a way for him to be easily hired and paid on US film projects. Since he's not a U.S. citizen I'm sure the U.S.-based film companies have to find all sorts of creative ways to get their non-citizen stars hired and paid! They can pay a U.S. corporation and that corporation can pay its President!

Ah, yes, that makes sense, Judy. I still think it's a good move, and lovely that he's named it after his dad's company.
