In honor of the upcoming PBS showing of Zen, this podcast from two Seattle-based fans of British TV has a feature on Rufus: britishtvpodcast.com/show92.mp3The section about Rufus starts at 19:58. It's pretty much just an overview of Roof's career, but I'm happy that they included audio clips from: Gone to Seed Middlemarch Dirtysomething Cold Comfort Farm Taming of the Shrew Zen At the end they mention "The Sea" as one of the things Rufus will be appearing in in the future. Sounds like they relied on IMDB for their information there.

Thanks Judy for purchasing this and copying it for all of us to enjoy. I listened to all of it before I saw your note about when Rufus was discussed. I wonder if the Sea will go ahead or not! They mentioned Rosamond Pyke and Charlotte Rampling being in the cast. I suppose there could be a possibility that this will be filmed! Does anyone know it is definitely not going ahead?

Hey Robela, This isn't the one I purchased. I just saw a link to this podcast on Twitter and downloaded it. I'm right now, as we speak, working on converting the Bob Edwards show, which I did purchase from Audible. Check that other thread in the Zen forum to get an update once I either declare victory (or cry sadly in defeat). Last we heard from Rufus (and I don't remember who asked him) was that he was still interested in the part, but the whole project just hadn't come together. Who knows? Maybe the producers will get all of the kinks worked out and the project will go ahead?

Keep on working, judy. I'm sure you'll succeed in your effort. If you need help give me a shout. I still have some time and also do a lot of mp3 conversions.

LOL@ I got tweeted by @brittvpodcast and he thanked me for plugging his podcast. Oh, and he apologized for his error about The Sea! I love technology.

Thanks for this one Judy, it was interesting - I really liked hearing (instead of seeing) the K&P lift-scene, and how they browsed through parts of his career in soundbites.

Thanks for looking after us Judy!
I just listened. What a great run down. It's a shame he got his info from IMDB but who knows maybe The Sea will still go ahead. At least the interviewer did some research.
It was me. Although he said there were some problems as people kept dropping out he sounded really enthusiastic about it and said he was very interested if they managed to pull it off. After all look at Zen - didn't Rufus say he met with Andy Harris a year or 18 months before they started filming of this. It is only a small role though, or at least it was in the book. A great character though.

Thanks for the link, Judy, although the announcers sounded like high schoolers doing their first broadcast. And the painfully bad pronunciations of Ciaran and Gruffudd - yikes!
I did get a kick out of Rufus "Hubba Hubba" Sewell.

Well, I've finally been able to download this (******* computer!) - interesting selection of his work to discuss but, oh, that male podcaster's delivery was excruciating! I loved the "Rufus Hubba-Hubba Sewell", too! Thanks for the link, Judy!
