Hi ladies
As this is taking up most of my time currently - besides working, I thought I share some pics and impressions with you. I have two days off work so I actually have some time now besides sleeping which I have to catch up with.
In my hometown we have every second year an open air play which usually is about a historical event. This year it's about the invention of gas lanterns in my town in 1860 and about the problems and fears that people had about this new thing. We have 5 professional actors and about 40 amateur actors in our team. I managed to get a small part with actual lines - the wife of the lamplighter or nightwatchman who is of course afraid of this new technology and also afraid to lose his job. On top of this our son is one of the radical young one's who fight with violence against the new invention. I also play a nun and a lady, so a lot of costume changes are in order. I alternate playing these 3 parts with a colleague so we actually have the chance to watch the play as a spectator. Unfortunately the first dress rehearsal when I was playing was a disaster so not many photos taken by a professional photographer could be used and in the second one my colleague was taking over. Therefore only one pic of me in action on stage.
This is me as the lamplighter's wife just before my first scene. I think I look dreadful ;D
And here as sister Agatha ;D
And the lady (with no name)
This is the only pic of me in action - me in the background - the two guys also in the background are my son and husband - in the play
and here are just some impressions from the play
And this is my favourite actor of the team, he's a professional- okay half of the women have a crush on him including me, but that's it (sigh). But he's a great guy and a joy to work with and very funny.
I will try to have a friend take some pictures when I'm performing later on - we still have 22 performances ahead of us and I will be in 11 of them.
I'm having so much fun and even though I've been doing amateur theatre for nearly 25 years, I've never took an acting course, this I will remedy now and have applied for a start to a one day workshop specially aimed for amateur actors.
If you are interested here is the link to our website - it's only in german but there are more pics
