The supporting role category is a bit baffling, but I'll take it anyway! Us Canadians know a good thing when we see it ;D

Wonderful news! (Although strange that the announcements have been split like this). My fingers are crossed for Rufus, too!

GE2 - it is strange that they announced that TPOTE would win for best mini-series. I know it's common these days to give a lot of the technical awards (like the ones for sound and make-up) at a separate show - but usually a major win like that would be announced the same night as the acting awards.
Keeping my fingers crossed for Rufus! he deserves the recognition.

Sorry barbicanbelle I haven't seen any more than is in this thread. If anyone finds anything it'll be posted here. I just want to add Yay!! You Go Rufus!! If he doesn't get it the judges are clearly a sandwich short of a picnic! modified to add - just found this little snippet about the awards. www.reelz.com/trailer-clips/58037/the-kennedys-wins-3-gemini-awards/Scroll down to Pillar's of the Earth video. It states starring Ian McShane and Rufus Sewell. It makes it even more bizarre that Rufus is nominated as a supporting actor. Still - I won't care about that when he wins it!

I take back all the nice things I said about Canadians. (Just kidding. ) That's weird that there was no mention of the award on their website when I went looking on 1 Sept.

Hey, at least he was nominated (unlike for the Emmys) - that still looks good on the CV!

Bad news It seems the award went to Joshua Close.....on 31 August. Joshua WHO? We wuz robbed! I already feared for it though when I saw these technical awards go to the series...having a bit of a flash back now of Band of Brothers & Damian Lewis, in 2001)
