Hello, Rufians, nice to read your forum, thank you for all the material! I've decided to register. I can see more and more of rookies join. Funny I didn't remember the minute I became a fan (or rather, kind of an appreciator), but one day RS was just right there in front of me, and that's it. Castanea from Hungary

Hello and welcome on board, Castanea! Good that you decided to join us.
This forum is a treasure trove for all things Rufus, the perfect place to obsess about the lovely man, and on top of that, the ladies around here are a very very nice crowd. So have lots of fun on the Rooftop!
Which are your favourite Rufus works? (I guess "Uncorked" aka "Higher Love" is one of them, to judge from your cute avatar. That's a great scene, and I love the film's beautiful soundtrack.)

hello Girls, thanks for your welcome…! kissmekate, so, favourite film… from "Higher Love" I just saw pics, unfortunately, but I like his eyes, hands and the candle light in this nice picture. At that moment I cannot choose from the films I’ve watched so far, because to me they’re like mosaics, puzzle-pieces showing different ways parts of a whole of his talent, his personality. What I like especially these days is his Petruchio and his Marke. adina, it’s funny, the quote you wrote… you know i watched that film last night and not consciously said something similar… but it’s true… thanks! judypatooty, we’re in the same boat, right? where can you find this kind of cute animation? walt, you’re so right, I AM spending a lot of time here, I think, and sometimes I just wake up when I fell asleep in front of my pc! Petruchio - Good God, my name castanea sativa is nothing special, just means the sweet chestnut… I really love it… you know in Hungarian we call it „tame” chestnut (beacause there is the wild chestnut, which is not edible) (taming of the wild chestnut) So, many thanks for you, castanea

Hi Castanea, welcome!!! Your name is beautiful! I love what you said about Rufus' roles and how his films are "like mosaics, puzzle-pieces showing different ways parts of a whole of his talent, his personality." That was beautifully put and so true! It's great to have you here! See you around the board!!

Hello anyother! the difference between fan and appreciator? I think (it's just my own theory) that mass media might handle us people as a homogeneous mass, only "fans", to whom they try to sell anything. But we, people, as individuals, we could show our respect towards people we like. It means I like watching films, interviews etc. of him, but when it comes to the rumours and tabloid news, or the scandals, it really makes me sad. Of course it applies not only to RS, but all the other people, including persons who take part in reality shows. So reading this forum I found Rufians are appreciators that's why I like it.

judypatooty, we’re in the same boat, right? where can you find this kind of cute animation? I'm not sure if this is the place I got that particular "smiley" from, but it's a good source to start with ... www.freesmileys.org/To insert one into your post, just copy the information in the "Forum Code" box and paste it into your post. I predict that Castanea's future posts will be a bit more animated!

Glad you joined us, Castanea! Ross is a favourite of mine, too! I love your description of Rufus's roles being like puzzle pieces of the whole of his talent - there is one particular role of his that encapsulates that for me, so if you haven't seen it yet, do watch "Charles II: The Power and the Passion" - that was the role that hooked me! Hope you enjoy exploring this site! Don't be shy about asking questions, will you?

At that moment I cannot choose from the films I’ve watched so far, because to me they’re like mosaics, puzzle-pieces showing different ways parts of a whole of his talent, his personality. What I like especially these days is his Petruchio and his Marke. Petruchio and Marke were the ones that got me hooked, along with the lovely Tom Builder from Pillars of the Earth The mosaic comparison is so true. I've hardly ever seen such a versatile actor - he even manages to look totally different depending on the role he plays, and with him, that's not just the clothes and make-up. Have fun discovering more of the Rufus universe! If you haven't seen it anyway, I'd recommend watching "In a Savage Land", "The Woodlanders" and "Illuminata", along with the films the other ladies already mentioned. "Higher Love" is worth a closer look, too - the scene your avatar is taken from is so cute and funny. Oh, and the heartbreaking "9/11: Out of the Blue" (be sure to have a Kleenex box ready)! Some of the films are hard to come by, unfortunately, but most of them can be found on youtube (albeit in 10-minute snippets).
