I've devoted quite a bit of time thinking about this, and I think I've finally come up with my choices. These are subject to change at any given time; like someone mentioned earlier in this thread, my soundtrack is still running.

1. A song from your earliest childhood
"California Dreamin'"-The Mamas and the Papas

My earliest memories of music consist of Mom having the oldies station on as she drove around in the car doing errands. I still love this song and this band.

2. A song you associate with your (first) love
Assuming that, by first love, you meant the first love I had that was actually tangible...
"Only One"-Yellowcard

I played this for him once. I'll never know why. It's a good thing I don't listen to Yellowcard anymore.

3. A song that reminds you of a holiday
"Los Peces en el Rio"-Mannheim Steamroller

Specifically, it needs to be the "Christmas Live" version. I first heard of them via this concert being broadcast as a DirecTV Freeview event when I was 10. We recorded it, and ever since, it has become a tradition at my house to play it every Christmas. We recently had to resort to buying the DVD because SOMEBODY decided to record college football over the tape. >:[

I can think of a few, but this is the first thing that comes to mind.

Also, I listen to Robin Thicke, and there are times when I feel guilty about that. I really can't explain what it is about him that keeps me listening.

This song helped me get through so much.

I've played this an insane amount of times over the course of my life.

I'm a sucker for piano music, so I'll have to pick a song from my favorite composer.

This has been a constant favorite ever since I first heard it.

It's weird to think I only discovered them last year. They've quickly grown to be one of my favorites.

This one was by far the hardest to answer. I finally decided on this one.

Somehow, listening to depressing music when I'm depressed makes me feel better. It reminds me that I'm not the only one who feels that way. Hence, my use of this song here.

10. A song that reminds you of a special situation
"My Heart Is a Holy Place"-The King's Singers

I had the privilege of seeing The King's Singers live once. This song in particular reminds me of that because that dayt marks the first time I heard this song. It sounded like a choir of angels singing. The sheer beauty of it brought me to tears.

11. A hiphop/rap song you like
I don't know a lot about this genre, but I like a few artists. It was hard to pick just one.

I have to go with this one. I feel so empowered when I listen to this.

Jon Hopkins' music is a rarity; it's one of the only things I can put on at night to help me fall asleep.

This song reminds me of all the great times I spent with my fraternity brothers. I'll always remember how they took me in and helped me grow as a person.

I don't really have a best friend. I have friends, though, and I'd play them this song.

It's from "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" soundtrack. Even my fellow Musers think this song is awful. Cheesy? Yes. I love cheese, though.

When I'm angry, Kamelot goes on.
"Forever"-Kamelot

For some reason, I always start with this song. I'm not exactly sure why.

20. A song you would want to be played at your funeral
I'm not religious, and at this point, I'm not sure if I'll even have a funeral. However, if I were to have one, I'd have this song played.

I couldn't find the exact version I wanted, but this'll do. Ideally, it'd be the piano-only arrangement from "Take One." Anyway, this is one of my favorites, and it has a great message with religious undertones.

21. Your favourite movie soundtrack song/tune
Since you said song OR tune, I'll do both.

EVERY TIME. D; His choral music just moves me so much. I can name three specific parts in this song when I still get chills.

It's from a soundtrack based on my favorite series of books, "A Series of Unfortunate Events." I still end up chuckling at the "run run run run" bit when I try to sing it. I think you have to know the books to fully understand why this is amusing.
