finally I found out to put my message to here Hello to the forum members! A bit funny thing, I am only male here? My situation is that after some reading I thought I could be a member too. Even I am not a native speaker of English, I read better than write, I find this is a good place to express myself. A short story, you perhaps wonder why I join. I feel a little bit strange, but after a while it can change. My life was changed a lot when I noticed some films of Rufus Sewell. Changed, in the meanings of how I started to think about difficult questions. I am a film fan I can say. Two of his films I liked a lot, because they were so funny and fine. Taming of the shrew and A man of no importance. I like Oscar Wilde as well I like Shakepeare, too. The third film I loved is In a savage land, but it made me felt blue and all the sadness. Some people said to me that even I am too young I have too much sadness in me. I don’t know, I hope I find fun here. with chaste heart - beacuse I love that Ode with the voice. I am also looking for the pure eyes? ::chasteheart

Hello chasteheart - welcome on board! Great that you decided to take the plunge and join the fun. And don't be afraid of us ladies, we're quite a nice bunch and ready to welcome any man who's as fond of the talented Mr. Sewell as we are The Taming of the Shrew was one of the first films I watched after falling in love with Rufus when the Pillars of the Earth were on TV, and I was absolutely ravished by his versatility and the sheer fun of the whole thing. AMONI is another beautiful film, and you also name one of my greatest favourites, IASL. I love that film, Mick Carpenter is such a wonderful character. Please feel free to join any discussion about Rufus and his works, and don't worry about your English. There are lots of non-native speakers on the board, and our native speakers are always happy to help if we get into trouble I like your user name, too, lovely reference to the poem. Have you seen more of Rufus's works?

Hello chasteheart - we do have a few other male members of the board, so you're not totally alone. But as Kate said, we ladies are a welcoming lot. And while we may get a bit silly over Rufus' phyical attractions, we all do admire his acting skills just as much.

Hi, chasteheart. Welcome! As others have said, we do have other men around here, although they may not post as much as some of us.
We love to talk about the meaning of Rufus's films/plays; we all think we are excellent film critics. ;D I love In a Savage Land too. It's a wonderful film, beautifully acted. It does have a quiet, thoughtful tone and beautiful music that could leave you with sad feelings. We have discussions about IASL and other films in the Works thread, so please feel free to join the conversation if you are interested.
Have fun!

Welcome to the board! As others have said we are a welcoming lot and love to hear other peoples opinions about our favourite Rufus films and TV work. My absolute favourite is TOTS followed closely by IASL and Zen, but really anything with Rufus in is fine with me! Have fun on the board and don't worry about your English - it seems great to me

Welcome to the Rooftop, Chasteheart!
As Rufus is a very versatile actor, I'm sure you'll find a lot of other interesting films besides the ones you know.
And don't worry about your English. When I was looking for some possibility to improve/keep up my English, I incidendally came along the Rooftop and now I'm convinced that way was the very best way!

Hi, Chasteheart, thanks for joining us! As everyone has said, don't worry about your English - it's absolutely fine, and we manage to communicate very well here between many different nationalities! We do have a few male Rooftoppers, but not many join in, so I hope you'll be the exception now you've broken the ice with us. Do watch "Charles II: The Power and the Passion" (also known as "The Last King" - but try not to get that version as it's about an hour shorter) if you can - Rufus at his best, in my opinion. Have fun exploring the site, and just ask if you have any questions. (I see you've joined in the games already!) Welcome again (and I'm another who loves your avatar) GE2
