As Kitty just pointed out to me (bless her sweet heart), I should have started this thread in "Games" to begin with. I offered a really wimpy excuse for not doing so (it had to do with my lack of sustainable gray matter), but then it started nagging at me, so I'm trying to rectify my original mistake and provide another chance for you to respond:

Rufus is coming to your house for dinner. Tell us what you'll be serving him and what other guest(s) you'll be inviting. Then tell us why you chose that guest.

Like this, girls: "When Rufus comes for dinner, I'll be serving my famous pork chops and brown rice comfort food and I'll be inviting Shirley Henderson to join him so they can tell me their favorite moments from "TOTS" and "Charlie." We won't need dessert. Rufus' smile will be sufficient.

Unfortunately I also killed responses when I moved this, but so far, everyone's opted for inviting Rufus all alone so they can enjoy his company undisturbed, although kitty did say, if forced to, she'd invited Harries and try to get to the bottom of the Zen fiasco.

I like the idea of the additional guest. Will have to think about it for a while. Shirley's a good choice, though. That would be a lovely evening with the two of them at my table.


Then kygal added: I would want Rufus to myself, so I wouldnt invite anyone else. Not sure what I would do with my family...haha. Today it would be turkey and all the fixins.

And, finally, kitty said: I think I'm with kygal and would want him all to myself too, but in the interest of protecting the purity of anglophile's game, I'll sacrifice just this once.

(Just realized that I don't think I've ever read anything that tells what his favorite dinner foods are, except in one interview he was eating pasta. That's what I'd find out and truly serve, but he'll have to take his chances in this game, lol.)

When Rufus comes to dinner, I'll be serving shrimp pasta, and I'll invite Andy Harries to join him, so I can get to the bottom of the Zen thing once and for all. I know...I need to let it go....and I have for the most part, lol.

I have to say, I'm also in the camp of wondering why on earth I'd want to invite anyone other than Rufus! But if I have to......Well, then, Bill Nighy and Shirley Henderson - and hope I didn't feel left out of the conversation. Food-wise, because I just know he'd have loved New Orleans fare, it would be popcorn shrimp to start, followed by blackened catfish or crawfish etouffee, then white chocolate bread pudding for dessert. Yum.

Sounds great to me. Love your choice of guests, but confess to some questions about Bill. I gather he's a board favorite, but I can't think of anything I've seen him in, so I'm not sure what the attraction is. I also note he seems to have a personal relationship with Roof (maybe that's the real reason for a warm board reception, as well) but I'm clueless about it as well. So, I'm asking if I can come to dinner, too, and maybe pick up on some dinner conversation hints that will clarify all this for me. Otherwise, you're going to have to simply spell it out on the on the board. It's up to you, GE2. Do you want to feed me or enlighten me? ;D ;D

Bill Nighy was in Arcadia with Rufus. He has been in lots of things, but most recently

and I think he's doing some theatre at present.
I believe he's very good company, but I'm not asking him to join Rufus and me in the described (extended ) meal. ( see> For Rufus I would... )
