I never saw the first series. Don't know why, just too many things to watch I suppose. ;D (Rufus, then Rufus, maybe more Rufus) Anyway having seen the Series 2 episodes, I am just loving it, pity it's over already. I loved it so much that I have already got the DVD of Series 1. I will be watching that through with great interest, plus the last three eps again. When I first saw that Martin Freeman was playing the part of Watson I was not sure. However after about 20 mins of my first viewing I thought that he and Holmes (BC) were just brilliant together. Hope there will be a Series 3 before long. Yes agree with GE2, a lot of loose ends, but hey it's such fun. GE2 quoted: Oh yes, that's one puzzle that needs a lot of patching together!!

- how the heck can Sherlock have survived being splatted all over the pavement like that?! Mr Ophelia is more eagle eyed then me. Sherlock told Mr Watson to stay where he was, not to get any closer. So the road was totally blocked from Mr Watson's vision. After Sherlock came down, Watson ran round and then knocked down on purpose by bike. Now, there was a lorry right next to Sherlock, a lorry filled with bags, a soft landing. The lorry drives away before Watson is on the scene. So, Mr Ophelia's theory, is land, roll off lorry, fake blood everywhere and Paramedics there in minutes. Sherlock had Mollie to help him and a total cover up my brother Mycroft, to make amends to his brother. Now Sherlock has to find away of clearing his name. In the original book, The Final Problem, only a few free surviving members of Moriarty's organisation and Holmes' brother Mycroft know that Sherlock Holmes is still alive. So Mr Ophelia's theory of what might have happened. We will see next year!!! Love Ophelia xxx

And, much as I enjoyed last night's finale (and I really did, despite what I'm about to say), there were a few things in it that spoiled it for me: 1 - Moriarty breaches security at three ultra-high security sites, and his trial is held within six weeks??! That just never happens, not with that type of offence. 2 - the Judge directed the jury to return a "not guilty" verdict???!!! The only time that happens is when the trial has to be stopped for lack of evidence, never just because the defence doesn't call any. 3 - why didn't Sherlock query why "Richard Brooke", who was supposedly an actor on TV, wasn't recognised and therefore Moriarty's identity questioned? The trial was plastered across all the papers! Yes, I know that was all a bluff, but it doesn't alter the fact that Sherlock should have queried that. Yes, this is all nitpickety, but it was also sloppy writing on behalf of Steve Thompson, and for me it detracted from the brilliance of the story overall. Oh, one last quibble....... ***SPOILER ALERT***v v v v v v v v - how the heck can Sherlock have survived being splatted all over the pavement like that?! <gets down off soap-box> By the way, it's already got the green light for a third series - it was apparently commissioned at the same time as the second: www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-16573066 So now we know who the real Sherlock is (you! well done!) As for the pavement question - I suppose that's the thing with cliffhangers...I personally think it's got something to do with a) Sherlock asking Molly for help and b) Sherlock telling Moriarty 'I'm like you'. But how? Grrrrrrrr, I hope the explanation's satisfactory though, but can't imagine how.

Oh, I just read Mr Ophelia's explanation - sounds good to me, but then again: John did see Sherlock all bloody and deadish, so how did they do that?

Just ordered my first season dvd. now i just need to buy some extra hours in my days. also got the ian mcshane 'lovejoy' first season dvds. finished watching "kings" last night - which turns out to have been an NBC series, and I was livid that it didn't "end" right. upon reflection, let me rephrase that. it takes an awful lot to make me livid - but i was really, really, really put out.

Thank you to Mr Ophelia for his theory - we'll have to compare notes when series 3 starts! ;D having seen the Series 2 episodes, I am just loving it, pity it's over already. I loved it so much that I have already got the DVD of Series 1. I will be watching that through with great interest. LTM, the very first episode is just brilliant! A word of warning, though - make sure you don't take your eyes off the screen, even for a moment. It's an extremely fast-moving episode, and Sherlock's thoughts are constantly transposed across the screen, as are text messages. The second episode isn't as well-written, but the third is up to the same standard as Ep 1....with a cliff-hanger that won't be so much of one now for you, as you've seen the second series! Enjoy!

Just found this on Facebook - it's certainly not better than our own Rufus Games but still worth a laugh:

I'm really happy that they have finally managed to announce a date for Series 3. It's been a long enough wait after that cliffhanger at the end of the second series. I'm extremely curious as to how this is going to be solved.

I've watched episode 1 of the new series twice now, and I'm still not sure!! I have to say, I didn't like last night's as much as the first one - moments of sheer brilliance still, but the storyline not as good. Still hugely enjoyable, though!

I'm happy to see that PBS has wised up and is NOT going to make us wait months for the new series of Sherlock. Our season three preview is in two weeks. I'm sad to say that I can no longer watch BBC I-player for free, ExPat Shield now will only allow access to that site (and ITV) for a fee. But thankfully I don't have a long wait for Sherlock, the preview looked very intriguing.

I've only watched the first episode of the third series so far, but I really loved it. Brilliant humour!
I'm curious to see if they are going to solve the mystery of the cliffhanger. Including all kinds of speculations into the first episode was huge fun to watch, but I really hope we will learn the truth in the end.
