Did anyone catch 'Endeavour' the other night? This is the prequel to the much loved 'Inspector Morse'. There has already been a spin-off of this with 'Lewis' and although I love Kevin Whately and his new sidekick Laurence Fox, I think this prequel is better. This is a superior quality production and Shaun Evans as the young Morse, plays a blinder. Insecure, lacking in confidence , yet all the characteristics which would come out in the older Morse.
This appears to be a one-off at the moment . I do hope it becomes a series.
There was a little glimpse of Colin Dexter in one scene so perhaps we may be lucky

I really enjoyed this - Shaun Evans is a real talent. Saw him in a Lynda La Plante series first, which was a bit grim but he was great. I hope they do make it into a series, I liked the original Morse with John Thaw and I think this has really captured Morse before he gets too cynical! I loved that he didn't drink until his boss bought him a pint, older Morse usually had a few each episode!
