I think these types of pics are going to be taken whether we post and enjoy then or not. It is always done in a tasteful and respectful way here at the Rooftop thanks to the mods and admins. I really dont think Rufus woiuld mind his loyal and devoted fans here to enjoy some pics of him living life. Its not like we are trying to make a profit out of unauthorized pics. There is always the option to not look at pap pics. Trust me, I always will! Probably would take one if had the chance. Just being honest!
I am not convinced they do not know they are being photographed. Agree with GE2. I think there are things celebs can do or arrange to make private time more private if they wish. I know most want to live a "normal" life, but you cant, its part of the package. Its better to have people interested in you than not. Come on Rufus, who is NOT going to notice you in a fancy red sports car, in a fancy suit, looking HOT, HOT, HOT!

Sorry to have missed most of the conversation, but I just want to repeat kissmekate's "thank you" to everyone for having a respectful, friendly debate about this issue. Also, thank you Nell for coming up with a good compromise. As for where I stand, I'm ambivalent about paparazzi shots, which is why I don't always make many comments in those threads. I'm not judging others at all--as kygal notes, it is part of the business, and surely one Rufus is aware of. And I can't explain why some I see bother me and others don't. Purely a matter of a personal response. Besides Rufus seems to stay hidden for long periods. Doesn't he know he should be posing for professional photographers regularly? But there is always a question of degree. Again, as kygal mentioned, the red convertible is just begging to be photographed. For some reason these 2007 photos bugged me though. Like others, I think it was the "fork in the mouth" aspect. In these days of cell phones, even I know what it's like to be annoyed by relatives constantly taking photos during family parties and then posting pics on facebook of me shoving a piece of pie in my mouth. Hate it.
