thanks for the screencaps anyother - it's good to have the pics to know what Rufus looked like in that one, because I'm not likely to watch this.

Thank you, anyother! Apart from being a terrible film, it was also very badly-made, I felt, very corny - I certainly wouldn't have watched it, had Rufus not been in it. I remember being surprised at the likes of David McCallum appearing.
Rufus managed to be very creepy and unappealing in this role - the scene between him and Bella on the bench was very disturbing, but an early indication of his skill and powerful acting even in such a dire film as this.

Thanks, Anyother! Like many other Rooftoppers I for sure would not have seen the film if it were without Rufus, but I must confess that at the last scene in the train I had to laugh heartily.

To be honest, i saw it on fast forward after the Roof part. And yes indeed the fact that he was creepy shows the man did what he had to do- he was very credible. Just like with Jasper Bloom...i couldn't feel any connection, any liking for these 2 characters. Because we were not supposed to like them:D

I haven't seen more than the youtube clip, but it suffices to look at the pics above to be amazed how cold his eyes appear in this one. I really wonder how he does that.

I really really wish I could see this. Just like most of you I've seen the youtube clip and I was blown away by that alone. Is it very much available in England (or other areas of Europe)? I agree with Kate, his eyes look so cold and deranged it's amazing (and I can't get over how much Lia Williams looks like my cousin Becky).

I just finished watching it (well, until Tim bit the dust). Thank you so much!! It was exactly what I'd hoped for in regards to Rufus. I was awestruck by him. Creeped out, but awestruck. Every time he came onscreen or when I heard his voice I thought ' . This is Marke. This is Petruchio. This is Charles. This is Jacob. This is Aurelio. This is Tom.' I can't believe how good he was at such an early stage. It just makes me wish even more that there was a live recording of Arcadia somewhere in existence. He was, of course, the best actor, but he was definitely given the best lines. "There's something I've been meaning to tell you. I'm not sure how to put it but I think you ought to know. I can see you through the curtains." Ooooh I get it goosebumps just thinking about it! How he goes from sounding lighthearted (with that whimsical music in the background) to desperate seething anger is incredible. I didn't think he would go so early in the story (I was hoping his part would stretch a bit more). I'm sure it's because of the writer in me, but I wanted to know a bit more about him. I felt the same sort of thing when I watched Rufus play Eric. This is definitely something I wouldn't have watched if Rufus had not been a part of it, but I'm glad I was finally able to see it!
