I could have done with these last November when Roofsewell.com disappeared and I was looking for a decent Petruchio pic for an autograph.

Well, we know how picky he is, so probably nothing was offered to him that took his fancy! He's always saying he wants to do comedies, isn't he, which is why he often says he asks for there to be humour in even the serious roles he's offered.

On the other hand, he'd have to go a long way to beat Petruchio!

He would be great in a sort of comedy/romantic drama. Something like The Holiday only with Rufus playing the Jude Law role, or even the Jack Black role. Or something like the romantic comedy roles played by Cary Grant or the ones that starred Doris Day and Rock Hudson/James Garner. I used to love those when I was a girl.

Yes I agree, there are not many things as well written as The Shakespeare Reborn adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew.

Considering he says he is mainly a comedy actor GE2, he has not made that many comedies that I know of?

Comedy was what he always wanted to do, but, as he said once in an interview, he was afraid he'd get typecast only as a comical actor, he aimed for the other direction at first to show his versatility. (Which kind of backfired on him, with many people seeing him only as the brooding Victorian and/or baddie on a horse ...)
