Thanks so much for doing these Martina. Because these and the Vinyan screencaps are quite important, and relate directly to Rufus's work, i thought they should be moved from "Other Rufus Stuff" which is more of a random collection of bits & pieces. We don't want these getting lost do we!! ;D

Wonderful, Martina! Thank you!
I can't get over how effective the whole "look" of the film is. That washed out, faded coloring is so perfect for the whole story.

Wonderful, Martina! Thank you! I can't get over how effective the whole "look" of the film is. That washed out, faded coloring is so perfect for the whole story. Whenever I see pics from this film though nothing is "Glammed up", I am always struck by the way the photography seems to emphasize Rufus's physical beauty , even though while watching the film I am only aware of Albert

Someone asked before if anyone knew the real story and when it happened. It took me awhile to find it, it was kind of obscure. It happened in 1996, The woman's name was Sharon Lopatka. She was married to Victor Lopaka. They lived in Maryland here in the States. She went to meet Robert Fredrick Glass in North Carolina. The story bears a small resemblance to DL. Robert was charged with voluntary manslaughter because she ended up dead, but he didn't mean to kill her. It was just ruff sex, he was choking her like she wanted and it got out of hand.

Beautiful screencaps Stama I have not yet see the movie, kinda hoping that it will show up in Sundance channel soon because even if it's available;I'd rather not watch it on tube for this particular one. This is the kind of movie I'd still look forward to see even if Rufus is not in it, but having him was just icing on the cake. What interesting is to hear how the audience walked out of the premier in the festival feeling uneasy. It is an independent movie and of all raw, twisted and some people considered "weird" movies came out of independent productions; this one is very alive, it's a happening in this world (thank you RD, before I only know that somehow somewhere it did happen) and judging from the trailer; sure hell Rufus did sink his fangs deep in the character! so Stama, thank you for the beautiful Albert

Finally seen it! I agree with you Stama; It is one of the best work I've seen. Effectively done, emotionally complicated, hah.....I myself emotionally drained. Rufus was RUFUS.....again. The pain, numbness is there.....I felt terribly sad at the m****** scene; I breathe the hatred, disgust, I felt that he's saying : "You disgust me, I will give you what you want but in my term, my way and you'd just have to live with it!" His character was very surreal, that this might happened next door not somewhere someone far from me. One thing I took from this one that somehow, he indeed aknowledge her pain (caused by him and others before) but choose not to react to it or just like his choice of dealing with his own; ignorance. He expected her to live life with the pain as part as the routines, shut up and just be thankful for having a husband who is not physically there nor physically abusive (at least not yet). His ignorance was paid by her demise. At the end, by trying to understand how this whole thing happened; I believe he's trying to curve his soul from the same ending. It's too late for her but not him. Love the start to finish and I will watch it again and again. Mr.Sewell, I wouldn't walk out on that screening and love that bomber jacket you wore that day btw (no... not the wooly one on the stage, the leather one.....)
