I saw the movie yesterday. I've seen the original version few years ago and was afraid that this might come as a disappointment. I am a big fan of Daniel Craig, and had no doubt in the quality of his performance, but at the same time had my reservations about the film itself. Well, I was wrong to assume it will disappoint me. It was done with much care, measurement and taste that reached all sort of places in me I thought dead for a long time. I don't want to spoil your experience, if you haven't seen it yet, I only want to say that it is worth the time and the attention. A very European film done by an american director, with complex ending, very good acting and a lot of atmosphere. It is good to see it twice- first for the emotions and the impression, and later to catch all the sides of the story and the dialogue. After this (and some other resent feature films), I am convinced there is still hope for the film industry. It has won several awards this and last year, and is also nominated for 5 Oskars. www.imdb.com/title/tt1568346/www.filmslatemagazine.com/reviews/film-review-the-girl-with-the-dragon-tattoo

I remember this movie quite well. I saw it with my brother. We both thought that a few of the sex scenes in there were put in there rather randomly. We were like, "Wait, whoa, how did that get in there?" Perhaps I'd have to read the book to really understand. I liked it quite a bit, though. Maybe I'll catch the original Swedish film some time.
