Gosh, this all makes me feel so much better. I created a second e-mail account on my laptop which I don't care to have just anyone reading, and now I am constantly afraid I'll leave it "on" that account when I shut down and someone around me will see the very things I'm not interested in discussing when I start back up. It's hard work being sneaky cautious.

Good to hear we all have the same password struggles...
At work we have to change our password every month since a few weeks, and you can't use the samen password twice, plus it has to have capitals, numbers, symbols etc. My computer however has a mind of its own, and told me my password will expire in a week if I don't change it, but refused to accept ANY new password. Our IT-department are baffled. Worse, I have next week off, so I'll probably have a very quiet first day back at work after my holiday - sigh.

Thanks for sharing all your password troubles. It's nice to know you're not alone. It's hard work being sneaky cautious. Oh yes. I keep hoping Mr. Kate won't find the little notebook I use to store my fanfic ideas! Frannie, how annoying! I hope you'll manage to sort that out.

Oh yes. I keep hoping Mr. Kate won't find the little notebook I use to store my fanfic ideas! Which is why I go very low tech and keep all of my EH notes on paper and in my purse. In the side compartment of my purse. Which I keep zipped. Yes - it seems that password problems are universal. I bet if Jane Austen were alive and writing today she'd work this into a novel!

Oh, I what I meant is an old-fashioned paper notebook (a 2003 calendar, to be exact ;D ). And my cache of Rufus pictures is on a USB stick that I keep in my handbag along with my chap stick and aspirin ;D

I quite like passwords from ever since we pretended to be the secret seven as kids, and you had to know the password to get in, and then from being one of those ghastly system adminstrators once, forcing everyone to change them... i have different themes, both with numbers and subject i run them for a while . I hate being forced to change them by 'the system' but change some of the ones i need to keep secure myself because I worry about hackers, alzheimers, etc. About the time of Rufus's birthday, I was on a flowers and 60s theme and then felt a need to change quite a few to '44redroses'. that makes perfect sense to me but darn it, everytime i come to rooftop i try to log in with it and of course the rooftiop password has am earlier and completely different origin. now i have gone android (i think thats what you call it) and just cos i am looking at a compltely different screen & commands all passwords have got xtra difficult to remember its enough to make me think alzhemmers is coming to get me. so i am redoing my little citrus garden; i might redo all passwords on android with citrus themes maybe they will be easier to remember

I just read an interesting article on passwords. The author said to have a simple sentence as your password. Something like - My dog is Sam. The password would be MydogisSam. The other tip was to create a memorable sentence and then use initial letters. "The Rooftop is a fun place" = TRiafp.
