Finally another Brit on the beach!!Rufus Sewell and his very attractive lady are here in beautiful Wrightsville Beach. ( but i'm not saying exacty where because we Wilmywood people dont tell on our very welcome film visitors)He has been very nice and posed for photos for some of my sons friends on the beach. I pulled into the car park of my local supermarket yesterday and he walked in front of my car on his way in. Didnt want to do the stalker thing so Rufus if you read these you can get Galaxy Minstrels and ripples at the small shop opposite the supermarket you were at, Fresh market at Mayfaire sell Cadbury easter eggs and the Harris Teeter at Mayfaire has an English section thats about 3 feet wide. World market at mayfaire is hit and miss but does do a big range of English choccie biscuits.

Hi, Sarah! (Hope it's ok if I call you that--let us know if you'd prefer something else.) Welcome to The Rooftop! Thanks for that information and for confirming that he's always nice to fans! It's very good of you not to say exactly where he's staying.... he deserves some privacy and security! It's doubtful that Rufus lurks around here, but maybe the information on English treats will get to him. It's sort of a joke around these boards that he's fond of eating (since he mentions food in so many interviews). We love to learn more about other Rufus fans and to give them a big welcome, so please feel free to start a new thread in the Members section, to let us know how you came to be a fan.

Hi Sarah! You lucky, lucky woman! I'll just say "ditto" to what Rueful said. We're all huge fans of Rufus around here (obviously...insert rolling eyes here), but we don't support any kind of stalking. So I'll say "Welcome to the Rooftop!" and I hope you get more opportunities to see Rufus around your town while he's there.

Thanks for the info Sarah and for your discretion Do tell us what took an English girl to North Carolina. You seem to have the inside knowledge on the best places to buy chocolate. Girl after my own heart!

Hi, Sarah - welcome and thanks for the info, and for your sensitivity to Rufus's privacy. I wonder if you'll encounter him again? As Rueful says, we'd love to hear more about you, so do feel free to start another thread in Members, if you feel like it. (By the way, your sofa is big enough to accommodate all of us, isn't it? ;D)

Well a whirlwind romance with an American with a sexy southern drawl ended up with us living on Wrightsville beach, where I am know as 'oh you're that English lady'. previously I was known in Christchurch Dorset as 'oh you're the one married to the American' maybe its time to wear a tee shirt saying 'actually my name is Sarah' Wrightsville beach is small so everyone knows everyone - think English village. We have five film productions here right now and every flat, house and spare sofa is rented out. We have a walking loop that everyone tends to walk or cycle everyday so you see everyone -its not a place to hide away. My friend saw Tom Selleck on the beach and yes he is totally lovely to look at according to her. You see film people all the time and it's a bit strange to walk into your supermarket or Golds Gym and see 'The Rock' because you feel like you know him and automatically go to say hi then realise he doesn't know you from Adam. Michael Caine was in Target shopping last year and told the cashier film people love Wilmington because they can do normal stuff and although people obviously recognise them they don't bother them. Rufus Sewell was having breakfast at the same place we went to this morning and absolutely everyone left him alone. Of course I'm always wanting to tell any other English person I meet where to get the English goodies - my bestie got me my first Flake Easter egg in five years last week and I was ridiculously excited. I tend to forget that English people just visiting want to experience all the American stuff and its only after a couple of weeks the proper bacon and ribena cravings start. Well I'm off to make my Hot Cross Buns since the ones here are more like a sticky bun and Christmas and Easter remain an English stronghold in this house.
