Oh sweet Seth...Proof that our RS is a brilliant comedian! CCF is such a underrated comic parody!
I always love RS in CCF & The Woodlanders...His west country accent is a riot and I feel so wonderfully homesick when I hear him in these films.
Hello thecrownprincess! Do see 'Woodlanders' it's so beautiful. And of course there's 'Tristan & Isolde' or as many of us think of it - 'Marc & Isolde and some dreadful little twerp'
love kq
You will no doubt guess my favorite RS film!

Ooooh, Sexy Seth! Actually, Cold Comfort Farm shouldn't be too difficult to get. I hadn't heard of much of Rufus's movies either until I came here. Lots of great discoveries to be made there!

Hi, Violet, and thank you for joining us (I see you've already thrown yourself into the games! - hope you enjoy being here, and especially your journey of Rufus discovery! Kate has given a great overview of the available goodies, and if you haven't already looked (although I think you probably have since I see you resurrected a very old thread!), there are lots of pics in media and on the dedicated screencaps section in "Work of...." Just ask here or PM if you have any queries. GE2

Hi, Violet! Welcome to The Rooftop! Congratulations on discovering Rufus. He's a real treasure, isn't he? ;D Cold Comfort Farm is hilarious! Really, really fun. (And currently available on youtube). If you want more Rufus comedy (with a gentle tone), look for Uncorked (which is also known as At Sachem Farm and Higher Love). (ahem. youtube)You should definitely seek out Zen! It's stylish and entertaining and intelligent, and Rufus looks gorgeous! The first episode is a bit twisty and confusing, but well worth it! For me, closed captioning helps. Also, PBS made some cuts that added to the confusion, so you're better off watching the DVD than watching it on PBS. The DVD has some charming interviews too (but don't watch til you've seen the series, because there are spoilers). So much to choose from, if you're a new fan. Basically, you can't go wrong with most of his movies. Kissmekate and Kernowsqueen named many of the good ones, and I'll add Taming of the Shrew (part of BBC's Shakespeare Retold tv series) and Amazing Grace. (And even in a couple of weak movies he's been in, he gives a great performance, so you can enjoy it on the level of watching a professional do his job beautifully in the midst of a shipwreck ). Have a great time!

Welcome to the Rooftop Violet - although I should warn this place can be hard on your pocketbook. Because you will soon tire of youtube snippets and want to own all of those DVDs. Luckily, there are some great bargains to be found.

I can't help but feel like I'm about to go into overload right now. There's so much to explore. I'm kinda just stuck in the media section...with my eyes glued to the screen...trying not to drool all over my keyboard... >_> Does this happen to anyone else? Thank you, everyone, for the kind welcome and the advice. This will take me quite some time, I think, but I'll get there, eventually.

Well, I can't keep up with this. I'll have a frickin' heart attack before long if I do. It's those eyes. They're like black holes; once you see them, you can't escape.

.trying not to drool all over my keyboard... >_> Does this happen to anyone else? It's one of the foremost symptoms of a mystery affliction called Rufusitis. Just keep some drool buckets ready, or maybe there will be a limited series of Rufus-themed fangirl drool bibs one day.

Aahh, those eyes.....They can see right into your soul, you know. We love them! Welcome to the most sane place on earth. Everyone here understands the affliction. But remember....No Cure! T&I has been mentioned...have you come across Arcadia? That is when you will notice The Voice.

Hello, Thecrownprincess! "...I can set my jaw and tilt my head a certain way and look quite mean." Oh, a quote from the '10 minutes with Rufus Sewell' article. I like it! Welcome!
