Well, before I go about asking it, I guess I should also ask for clarification about this whole project. Is this simply a designated thread on the board, or is there an actual note on paper involved? I'm sorry if that's a silly question, but I just wanted to make sure. Not a silly question at all, CP! By starting this thread here in the administrative section, we were hoping to keep all questions out of the birthday thread itself, so that it's focused only on birthday greetings. So this is absolutely the right place for you to ask your questions! And as GE2 said, please send any mod a PM if you have more questions that you don't want to share with the group. To answer your question: This is going to be a designated thread on the board, which one of the moderators will create/open a few days before Rufus's birthday. No paper copies involved.

What's the point of not giving him a print out? I've lost interest. Think I'll send my usual birthday card via the post to his agent. Thanks, but I understood you created A CARD from all the messages. Apparently not!

It's not been possible this year to do a birthday project along previous lines, Voiceover, so we hoped this would be an acceptable alternative.
I'm sorry you feel unable to take part after all.

Great idea - I'm in! Just one question: when will the birthday thread appear?

Sometime over the weekend, Anyother - Nell's in charge of that, so I'm sure she'll confirm later.

Oh, I like this idea! Now I just have to think of something to say. I'm so bad at these things.

Thank you for the positive comments ladies. Anyother, I'm now hoping to start the thread at some time today. I've had a few unexpected events this week and need to get my message done first.
Annachibi I have every faith your message will be lovely be, in fact I'm sure they all will be.
Many thanks to all of you supporting the project.

OK all - the Birthday thread is up and running. Please put your messages in there now. Any questions please post them here so we can keep the birthday thread just for greetings.
Many thanks to all participating.

Thanks Nell for taking the lead with this.

, but I understood you created A CARD from all the messages. Apparently not! I feel it should be explained to new members that in the past two years, we sent a big birthday card to Rufus which was made of many cards which were drawn or written by members and slow -posted ( from all around the world ) to one member who then collated them and made them up into the big one which was sent to Rufus. The first year it was Numbat ,in Australia who did it Last year it was Nell. As one who took part both years, I know it was an effort it was just to get my little card out and so I appreciate the time and work both Numbat and Nell had to put into making up the card and seeing it safely to its destination . I think if Nell felt, due to other commitments, she was unable to take it on this year, we should understand and show our appreciation for the work she did. Thank you Nell
