Happy Halloween!
Just for fun. What is the scariest movie/movies you have seen??
For me it was the original Halloween movie. Was pretty young at the time and it scared me to death. Now I think its stupid. Exorcist and the original Birds pretty scary also.

I love 'Rosemary's Baby' even though its more psychological than frightening to me. I also love the 1930's James Wales black and white version of 'Frankenstein' although it couldn't possibly be farther from Mary Shelley's book! (Read the book if you haven't yet - its fantastic...OHHH.... Rufus ought to read it on a recording!)
Happy Halloween Good Samhaine Holy Turn.

Happy Halloween! I'm not particularly fond of horror movies, but certainly Hitchcock's "Birds" left quite an impression with me (well, I was only twelve at that time, but I still recall some scenes very vividly although I never watched it again). Oh, and the Frankenstein movie with Robert De Niro. Mr. Kate and I watched that late one night in our hotel room, and both of us had trouble sleeping afterwards - although there weren't many really yucky scenes.

Boo! Happy Halloween! The earliest memory I have of being terrified during a movie was the Wizard of Oz--the Wicked Witch was so scary to me, and I can remember watching with my older siblings when I was about 5 or 6. I went running from the room to find mommy when Auntie Em's sweet face in the crystal ball changed into the witch!

Great subject, Kygal! I think the scariest film I ever saw was The Tingler. From Wiki: The film tells the story of a scientist who discovers a parasite in human beings, called a "Tingler", which feeds on fear. The creature earned its name by making the spine of its host "tingle" when the host is frightened. After a woman dies of fright, the Tingler is detached by the scientist, but it breaks free from the container it's put in..... I first saw this when I was about 8! Verrrrrrry creepy film. The scariest I saw was "The Fog" when I was 10 and alone in the house... You can think what happened after this, I wasn't able to sleep and switched the lamp on every 10 minutes, because I thought th Fog would come under the door - that was really creepy at that time... knock...knock...knock...

I can't think of any particular scary movie that was my favorite. I did, however, spend many a Saturday afternoon watching Christopher Lee's many Dracula movies on TV as a teenager. He was wonderfully scary and sexy! Please enjoy this video from Henri the Existential Cat about Halloween. youtu.be/R_fUsssnHPwHappy Halloween everyone!

Happy Halloween! The scariest movie I ever saw was Rectillicus. I was about 6 or 7 and had nightmares for a week!
Ah, Henri, my heart goes out to you - having to wear that silly costume.

KQ: Rufus reading "Frankenstien" sounds so splendid! It's so true what you said about the movie, too. The book is so much better. Anyway, I don't really like horror movies in general. I agree with the people who have mentioned Hitchcock's "The Birds," just because I was rather young when I first saw it, and it's one of those things that have still stuck with me to this day. As for recently, I had rented "Prometheus" because the trailer looked cool. All it did was remind me that I can't handle gore at all and that I should never, ever watch those sorts of movies in the middle of the night by myself. I cried afterwards. It was not OK.

Good ones ladies. I have never heard of The Tingler. Sounds scary. Not scary but silly fun...Young Frankenstien.
Not many trick or treaters last night...cold and rainy. Gave the last kid the rest of the bucket of candy. His parents probably are not happy.
