Obviously the zdf was trying to find a speaker whose voice is similar to Rufus's - but, of course, Rufus's voice is unique! Yesterday evening I wrote an email to the zdf and informed them about their mistake - I wonder what episode will be broadcasted this evening? Anyway, I'm afraid that for someone who watches Zen for the first time, this mistake of airing the episodes not in the correct order will spoil part of the fun.

Ouch! (So much for German thoroughness!) The main ZDF channel has announced Vendetta as the first episode. I hope they'll get it right on Tuesday!

Well even 'German Thoroughness' sometimes can be mesmerized by a certain pair of gorgeous peridot green eyes! He just dazzled them! PS: KMK and PGG - I love both your new Avatars!

Oh, thanks!
Well, if it was a woman who pressed the wrong button because she was overwhelmed by the dashing Aurelio Zen, I might be inclined to forgive her.

You all have inspired me, I watched my Zen dvd the other day. That's great! - I enjoyed it, too,.....but I think I'll prefer the English version, ;D not only because of the dubbing of the voices, but also some dialogues cannot be translated without losing their esprit... And I wanted to inform you that I received a long email from the zdf, apologies for the mix-up and the promise that the broadcasting of the season on the main channel will take place in the correct order of the episodes!

I watched the best part of "Vendetta" last night when it was on. Here's my griping about the voice - no, I didn't like it. I tried to be neutral, and it is basically a nice one (was that Robert De Niro's German voice? If not, it was very similar!), but it didn't fit with Rufus. I thought it sounded way too old, like a man in his sixties, and somehow too "heavy", not at all that soft velvet purr of Aurelio's. The other speakers were quite well chosen, though, especially Moscati and Amadeo. What I really hated was that several funny dialogue moments were lost in translation. For example, they left out the "I remember it very fondly" line when Anna asked him if he didn't like sex! (This wouldn't have been hard to translate! Instead, they simply had him say, "No, on the contrary!" ) Oh, and for the record: Mr. Kate was not impressed ;D

Well, well, well... what do I say... yes, KMK, totally agree with ... in the first moment I was really disappointed to hear the german voice of Rufus in Zen... and thought "What the h*** is that ?" - Because I really hoped, he would got the voice of Tom... Few minutes ago ... I checked out who was the synchronous speaker of Rufus in "Zen" and totally shocked to see it was the same speaker as for Tom AND Armand!!! ... totally different... sometimes a bit like Tom... NO WAY... If you are interesting in the synchronous speaker of Rufus... here's the list: www.synchronkartei.de/?action=show&type=actor&id=392Mr. PGG told me he was not impressed of the german edition !!! lovely hubby
