delurking here.. went to see friend in London and saw Old Times for the second time on the sat matinee. KST in the role of Anna and Lia as Kate the same way round I saw it the first time. But yes it did feel quite a different play. I got all sorts of quite different things out of it the second time.
I did go to the stage door and found a gaggle of people and a young man stage manager trying to wrangle these middle aged and older ladies! He said that no one was going to come out being a matinee they were resting between performances (which I can quite understand). Though I was quite disappointed. The first time I went with my friend she wouldn't let me hand about after! The Stage Manager offered to take programmes to be signed but I just left a wee present for Rufus and scarpered down the road. Friend was ill and languishing on sofa while I consumed kulcha so rushed off to get her supplies.

Attended yesterday's afternoon and evening performances of OT. Can it get any better. Great performances, as always. At the stage door he said "Hello again". Oh my, he remembers me, how wonderful. A car was waiting for him and Rufus explained that he had to rush for a fitting. But as always, he made sure that everyone that was waiting, had a photo and autograph. He smiled and apologized that he had to rush off. In the evening performance, who was sitting a few seats in front, was Ben Miles from Zen. Forgot to say, that the last time, a couple of weeks ago, Juilan Sands was in the audience. After the performance, several people had entered the stage door. Ben Miles walked passed me, I smiled and he smiled back. Should have asked for an autograph and photo. Missed my chance. Rufus came out and smiled to everyone. There was only a few because it was so cold. Rufus explained this was the first time that he felt really unwell and a cold was coming. His throat was sore and tonight's performance he could feel he was very hoarse. I wished him well and told him keep warm. Rufus, being unwell, still signed and talked to fans. I was not going to ask for a photo and thought he would just want to get home. But he was so sweet and said " Come on, can always do a photo". Smiling. He is so wonderful. But we all know. We said Goodbye and off he walked into the very cold, cold night. As you can see I was so cold, kept my hat on. Can you see me ?? Waited for Lia and Kristin. I was freezing. After 20 minutes, Kristin came out first and I finally had my programme signed. I explained I had seen the play a few times and she laughed and said "Did I understand it"? I replied, I was trying to and had my own theories, she smiled and said "Maybe you can explain it to me"!!! Few minutes later Lia came out, she was charming and smiling. The doorperson shouted to Lia. "This lady has seen the play, loads of times"!!! How embarrassing. My final autograph on my programme. Now complete A photo with Lia and then goodbyes. Hope I can get a photo with Kristin on Saturday. Get well soon Rufus, a big rest after Saturday. Very well deserved. A very cold, cold night travelling back home but another wonderful day. A few photos from the afternoon performance. Love Ophelia XXX

Argh! Poor Rufus. I hope he's soon feeling better. What a gem staying to sign autographs and posing for photo's even though he's not feeling well.

Hope Rufus is soon feeling much better. I've been wondering how he has stayed cold free during the entire run of the play.

That was my favourite pic, too, LTM! Thanks for all the pics, Nell and Ophelia - I love watching that sand artist work, when the tide's out. So sad when his creations all get washed away after just a couple of hours. And poor poorly Rufus! Hope he's better very soon. He certainly won't be hitting the high notes tonight. (I was in a shop yesterday afternoon, and they were playing "I Get a Kick Out of You" - guess who I thought of? )

What a shame that Rufus has caught a cold just at the end of the run. Poor man. He doesn't look very well in those last photos! It is awful when you have to carry on whilst feeling wretched! Glad you had such a good time and managed to get more photos and signatures Ophelia! Thank you everyone for posting the reviews and photos. All are stunning!
