Still I found no information on the homepage of the Cannes Film Festival which films will be shown, neither in or out of competition. This will be announced later:

The Official Selection is announced on the Festival's website the day of the press conference, around mid-April.

However, there is an off the record list on a German website which films may be shown there in Cannes - it's merely a wish list and there ATTAM is not included.

Since Rufus did a leading part in ATTAM we may hope that he'll attend the Cannes Film Festival....

The film festival takes place from 16 to 27 May - so ATTAM would be released on the first day?!

Thanks for posting Walt. I wonder if they just stated that date as it's the first day of the festival. We'll still have to wait until autumn for the film release I guess unless we all hot foot it to Cannes

I just noticed that ATTAM will not be the opening film of the 65th Festival de Cannes - but Moonrise Kingdom by Wes Anderson. That's a pity, because the opening film will be released in France on the same day...

According to a Gabriel Bryne homepage ATTAM is " reported to premiere in the UK October 1, 2012!"
