Well, erm, hi. I'm not really sure what to say, but I would like to ask for a bit of lenience with regard to newbie mistakes. I have to catch up with years worth of posts so please don't lynch me if I ask stupid question of post something that turns out to be 3 years old. One thing I do want to say. It really is something to be welcomed onto a board with a "VERY IMPORTANT - NO BARE BUMS!" post. ;D It seems I've missed a lot. Some interesting wallpapers, calendars, birthday card project (why only one?). I'll be reading up for quite some time.

Welcome Ginny! Lots to read around here. No question is stupid. Feel free to ask because usually someone will know where to find something easily. We actually did several birthday card projects. This year we decided on the message thread route. Happy reading!

Hello and welcome to the Rooftop, Ginny! Have fun looking around. This is a very friendly bunch of ladies who certainly will be happy to help if you have any questions. And don't worry about bringing old threads back up - that's forum archaeology and something we actually like I'm curious what it was that made you fall in love with our darling Rufus. For me, it was "Pillars of the Earth" that did the trick. And what are your favourites among his work?

Hi, Ginny, welcome and thanks for joining us! You certainly do have a lot to look through, but as Kate says, we don't mind threads being resurrected. What drew you to Rufus, and what's your favourite role of his? We're always curious to know that kind of thing! Enjoy taking a look around, and don't be afraid to ask if you have any queries, either in a post here or by PM. I look forward to seeing you around the boards. GE2

Hi Ginny, welcome to the Rooftop. And don't worry about making rookie mistakes, this is the most helpful, friendly bunch of people you'll find on the internet. The only problem with being a member of the Rooftop is that it is hard on your pocketbook as you will soon find yourself consumed with the desire to own a copy of everything Rufus has appeared in.
So what brought you to us? For me it was Rufus being in the U.S. TV show Eleventh Hour.

Thank you for your warm welcome I feel all warm and fuzzy now. With regard to the questions: Aurelio Zen. Something about the suit and the cheekbones (I'm so sorry the BBC axed that one (along with just about any other detective series they were showing - Waking the dead comes to mind) I'm not sure there's much left over. With ITV following suit, the weekly detective evening has been reduced to repeated repeats). ETA: Living in the middle of nowhere I'm at a disadvantage. Those plays I'll never see and a lot of the audio seems to have been a one-off too. On the plus side, I'll be watching Charles II this weekend. Starring a certain Rufus Newell

ginny, you will love Charles 11. Have a lovely weekend. Thanks, I did, though Charles ended up on Tuesday and Wednesday or something. Quite a long series to sit through and I was somewhat confused about Cromwell. I thought he was already beheaded in The Tudors under Henry VIII but it seems there were more. BTW I forgot to mention anything audio in last post. My mind was on roles and movies and skipped over the reading. Which I happen to like. A lot.

Rufus is a wonderful reader--he creates such distinct characters, and he is good at expressing subtle emotions with just his voice. Which books have you listend to, ginny?
