I must say, I love the welcome. You're a friendly bunch!
GreenEyesToo, if you wish me to expound on moi (though I can hardly think of anything more boring), I will do so. I'm a Yank (which is a term of endearment, right?
), married to an Aussie for nearly twenty-one of my forty-seven years. I have three children; a grown-and-on-her-own daughter, and two fine, healthy sons, both of whom were born with Down syndrome - but smart-as-whips, the pair of them (of course I would say that. I'm their mother!)
Anyway, as you can imagine, with the two of them on my plate, I have to be a stay-at-home mom (or mum, for all of my UK, Canadian, and South Pacific friends).
Now, as to Rufus...
lovely, lovely Rufus... sigh ... sorry, lost my train of thought for a moment. What was I writing about? Oh yes, Rufus. I probably fell in love with him as Will Ladislaw in
Middlemarch because I'm a sucker for English period drama. And honestly speaking,
who wouldn't have? I mean, come on! He has it all: the eyes, the hair, the lips; cheekbones you could slice yourself on if you're not
very gentle with him...Okay, I need to just stop right now. I'm a middle-aged woman. I'm a mother and a grandmother, for crying out loud. Enough!
I appreciate him for his acting ability, too. Must never forget that. Loved him as Jasper in
The Holiday, and as Tom Builder (don't even get me started on Tom Builder, because I could go on and on...). We just watched
A Knight's Tale last night
(stupid movie, can't believe I sat through it again. Honestly! What one won't do for their celeb crush! Sorry to anyone who liked it!), and as always, Rufus was brilliant. Seriously though, there are still many of his films that I have yet to see. The two I'd
most like to own are
A Man of No Importance and
The Last King. I'd have to say though, that my favorite role of Rufus' to-date is Aurelio Zen. This is ironic as hell because I couldn't even finish the first Zen audiobook. Couldn't get through it.
Not even with my very most favorite actor of all time reading it to me in his incredibly sexy voice. But I cannot begin to express the heartache I experienced when
Zen was canceled. I was astonished!
As I posted on my Tumblr blog, I don't care that the series was horribly behind schedule and over-budget -
"Just! Give! Me! Rufus! As! Zen! And nobody gets hurt!" I can't begin to count the number of British series(es?) I have really gotten into watching that have been axed by the BBC or whatever conglomerate produced them. It's so disappointing. Then one must move on to find another, only to be disappointed again. The BBC is like a best friend with too much drama: you hate their issues, but you love them so much you can't stay away for long. But when you do get back in contact, you find the same old thing: drama, drama, drama. Ugh. Can I get a witness?
And to
judypatooty (who's username makes
me smile as well), I'm glad you like VagabondTrousers. I could explain it, but it's a semi-long story and, tbh none of you would care.
Suffice it to say, a friend on Tumblr coined it and I loved it. So I claimed it as my own and absconded with it
So that's me in a nutshell, or just about. I'll probably be bringing lots more gif(t)s along to the party because quite frankly, I'm addicted to GifBrewery. Love using it. Love making pretty things. And Rufus is just about the prettiest I've seen in a long, long time (with the exception of my handsome husband and
The One who reads to me in that wonderfully sexy voice). I know Rufus has read several audiobooks as well, but I have yet to find a way to get any of them into my hot little hands. Any advice on how to do that would be most appreciated, btw.
Looking forward to making lots of new friends here.
Take care, all!
