‘Victoria’ Series 2: Jenna Coleman, Tom Hughes, Rufus Sewell Will Be Back For More (OR so reads the headline. I somehow doubt we'll get Lord M back for series 2) Courtesy of Huffpost www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/victoria-series-2-jenna-coleman_uk_57e4f0c9e4b004d4d8627838Anyway there are a couple of interesting statements.... The romantic royal drama has beaten ‘Poldark’ to viewers’ hearts.
It seems it isn’t just viewers who can’t get enough of Victoria and Albert’s heady romance in Sunday evening’s hit drama, with ITV confirming today the series ‘Victoria’ has been recommissioned.
Following the young queen’s dramatic falling in love with her German cousin, viewers have been caught up with their blossoming courtship, overcoming the obstacles of the Queen’s courtiers and Albert’s unpopularity with her British subjects. The chemistry between stars Jenna Coleman and Tom Hughes, reported to have spilled over into real life, hasn’t hurt the show at all, either, while Rufus Sewell has found a whole new fanbase with his mischievous silver fox Lord Melbourne character. Now ITV bosses have today revealed it’ll be returning for a second series, with writer Daisy Godwin returning for duty, and both young stars back on screen. (no mention of Rufus here note...)Daisy Goodwin says: “Even though she reigned in the 19th Century, Victoria is a heroine for our times. In the next series she faces the very modern dilemma of how to juggle children with her husband and her job. As Victoria will discover, it’s hard to be a wife, a mother and ruler of the most powerful nation on earth!” The first series has been a ratings triumph for ITV, no small relief after the huge gap left by ‘Downton Abbey’s departure. It’s 29% share of the viewing audience has made ‘Victoria’ the top rated ITV drama of the year so far.

Thanks Nell. This may be premature about season 2 since I haven't seen season one, but think I would find a way to insert Lord M into the storyline.

a lot for the news about Victoria, Nell! Shame they didn't mention Lord M! From the reactons of the audience, ITV should have learned that if Lord M. would turn up, their viewing rates might increase! for the link, BB! I especailly like that part of the article: How true!

, I only got around to reading (part of) the reviews and interviews now. "Hot and honourable" sums it up pretty well! Nice to see Rufus get such good press
