I'm loving the reviews I've been reading! I can hardly wait to see if for myself.
I especially liked what the Radio Times had to say ... Melbourne is a joy to watch, bringing warmth, depth and complexity to a prime minister you wish could vote for yourself. I repeat: Rufus Sewell, the man who played one of screen’s most ruthless Nazis in Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle, is at the centre of the warm beating heart of Victoria. The man's a national treasure.
Indeed he is.

Wholeheartedly agree. It's so good to see Rufus again on British t.v. In such a sumptuous production. They have everything right but Rufus is so amazing as Lord Melbourne. Jenna is also excellent as young Victoria. You ladies in U.S. Are in for a treat. It is just wonderful.

Lovely review from Radio Times Judy, wholeheartedly agree. Having watched first two episodes through twice already have to say it is superb production, well cast, with a beautiful performance from Rufus, looking gorgeous as ever of course. He is also mentioned very positively in the reviews I have seen and has had lots of screen time so far. Totally agree with you robela, it is lovely to have Rufus back on British TV.

Oh what a treat! Just watched episode 1 and it's a delight! I would have loved this anyway but Rufus as Lord M gives it that added piquancy (if you see what I mean). ;-) BBelle

I see from my newspaper that Rufus is the 'new Sunday night heart throb'. Where've they been for the last 20+ years? They've picked up on the 'smoulder' between Melbourne and Victoria.

I just hope Rufus is in as many episodes as is possible, as he will be sadly missed when Albert comes on the scene. Twitter is certainly 'alive' with praise for Rufus and Lord M and rightly so. What a fabulous actor we all follow and admire. I apologise in advance for all you Poldark fans (and I will view it too, after Victoria of course), but......Poldark? Who?? Lord M rules supreme.

It's taken them a while Corndolly, hasn't it? LOL. I do so hope the 'powers that be' finally realise how good an actor he is and cast him in a leading role that he can get his teeth into. And I'm not talking vampire here!! We really do need to see a lot more of Rufus on our TV screens.

What a lovely treat to come home to! I was fortunate to catch Sunday's episode albeit on a screen far smaller than I'd have wished and couldn't believe my ears when they said the next episode was the following night. Fortunately I got home in time to see it. And what a treat! All of the actors did a great job and gel well together. The chemistry between Victoria and Lord M is great, as I knew it would be. Lord M is proving himself to be quite the gentleman, it'd be very difficult for anyone not to like him imho (said without a hint of bias ). The set is lavish as are the costumes and the story captivating. I'm sure this is a side to the Victoria story that hasn't been touched on in the past. I've not seen the reviews or publicity yet. Looking forward to catching up soon and can't wait for next weekends episode .
