I just heard about a new streaming channel available in the U.S - BritBox! It's a joint venture from BBC Worldwide and ITV. "Start streaming now on your phone, tablet, computer, Apple TV or Roku. All you need is an internet connection to get started. No cable or satellite subscription required." And guess what one of the programs that you can stream is? Charles II: The Power and the Passion!!! The original British version and not the one butchered by PBS to take out all of the fun naughty bits. I just signed up and will get it set up through my Roku tonight when I get home from work. $6.99 per month, no contracts, cancel anytime, 7-day free trial. Between BritBox and Acorn I'll have all of my favorite British programs (make that "programmes!" ) at my fingertips.

You can watch online on computer and stream now on handheld devices like tablets or phones. They don't have the Roku channel up yet, though. Bummer. So I doubt they have the Apple TV channel yet either. The FAQ says something like "when the service is totally rolled out ..." so it's still a work in progress. The good news is that I also found that they've got "Zen" on there as well! Charming Charlie AND Aurelio Zen. Sigh.

I had sent them an email asking when the Roku channel would be available and I got a response!
"Dear Judy,
Britbox should be available via ROKU any day now! Sometimes it takes a few extra days to get all of our apps certified but rest assured it is imminent! We would be happy to send an e-mail if you would like, once this is available.
Cheers!
Kaz"
