Thanks to a venturing mod posting to my blog and inviting me over I thought I'd take a peek.. Gonna take me... ages.. to wade through the archives. We're thrilled you could join us. We always love a new victim convert... working in a bookstore would be my dream job... In an airport... don't know. Might be too much temptation for me. We know... lol! There you go and we'll be happy to fill you in on anything you need to know in ten words or more... so what work have you seen... hum? And I forgot to mention, we have members all over the world so you'll find someone to talk to here nearly any time of day or night...

Welcome to our group, Brennan! So, you're the lucky one who got to see Rufus recently? Tell us all about it. I love to hear these stories! Not being likely to have that kind of good fortune I live vicariously through the chance encounters others are willing to share! (And don't let a little thing like work stop you from joining in! )

(And don't let a little thing like work stop you from joining in! ) Ha ha, hear hear. I always die of embarrassment when my boss comes to look at something on my computer and I realize that a tab on my browser clearly states 'Rufus Sewell Message Board'. She hasn't mentioned it once though. Oh my God, she is probably just as embarrassed. Anyway, welcome Brennan!! I hope you'll have fun here!

G'day Brennan! Glad you decided to join us. I think you sense the degree of envy emanating from those of us who are on the other side of the world - you actually got to see him in person whereas we just have to make do with the movies! Jump right on in!!!

Hiya, Brennan - welcome!
Most people lurk first, then join in so it's great you decided to jump right on in with us! (And, yes - he is handsome close up - his photos just don't do him justice)
Enjoy!

Glad to have you here..........as another one that will never see the man.......I love to read the stories of those of you that have, met him, seen him, heard him speak in person, shook his hand, had him say something directly to you...........see, I'm easy, I'll take anything!

Welcome Brennan, glad you decided to join us!
While I'm oozy with envy that you've met Rufus, I feel sure that in your place I'd be remembered as "that rather creepy lady who scared me so I left my magazine/book behind in my rush to get out of there!" ;D
So tell me, is it true he looks much taller in person than on screen?

Welcome Brennan! (May I just say I love your name!) I kind of stuck myself with it during a misery period.. Brennan is Irish Gaelic for Sorrow.. I started using it with an e-mail addy and it stuck.. :> never say never... I would have said the same thing at one point, in fact I rarely get the opportunity. Last tuesday was only the second such experience for me. First was Paul Brandt. I'll try not to lurk too much... it's a nasty habit of mine.. seems that when I jopin up on a board or such, I end up just reading all the interesting posts and saying nothing after a while.. :> with luck my work schedule will settle down the next few weeks and I can devote some time to de-lurking everywhere I lurk.. ;D

Welcome Brennan, glad you decided to join us! me too.. :> he didn't buy anything from me... wandered around with a dvd in his hands (by the ironies, it was either The Illusionist or The Prestige) then after a bit he left.. but his response to my holler of "have a good one" was sweet. Half turned and bent around the corner to respond.. sounded like he said "thanks, you too" I felt short. I range in about 5'6, and I felt about 5 feet tall. not that i minded much... so I guess the short answer is.. Yes. ;D

We're thrilled you could join us. We always love a new victim convert... I thought it owuld be too rude just to ignore the invitation.. wandered over here and went wth.. why not... it is for me. I love my job. Temptation alley though... I'm a very hardcore bibliophile. and I love to read.. so most days I spend my time fighting the urge to read, failing miserably, talking with the customers about books or where they're going, fighting the urge to buy more books.. and failing that one too. it makes for exhausting work. <g> I figured.. ;> it was more an expression of awe. Up close gorgey. Most of the roles I've seen, he's been a villain, and the personality behind those has been rather unattractive, which shows definately how talented, because if less talented, I wouldn't have been indifferent. (experience based on other actors I've watched...) ten words or more huh <said drily> :> in all honesty, not that much. Knight's tale, Dangerous Beauty (though not very recently) The first half of Kenneth Branagh's rendition of Hamlet - I fell asleep and missed the second half ;P, and Legend Of Zorro. haven't had much time to watch movies.. let alone managing to convince the hbubby which ones to watch... <grumbles something barely intelligible only words heard sound like damned man> [quoteAnd I forgot to mention, we have members all over the world so you'll find someone to talk to here nearly any time of day or night...[/quote] thanks for the update.. :> I look forward to many delightful discussions. <taps fingertips together lightly - smiling>

ooo you have a lot to see. You haven't even seen any of the good stuff yet. You can find synopsis of all of Rufus work... okay not all. I haven't seen The Holiday and a few others, but most all of Rufus work on the webpage www.roofsewell.com listed under either cinema, or television. There is a bit about the theatre there as well and some pictures from Rock 'n' Roll and a few other items. There are also commentaries by some folks here and a few by others but all fans. That should give you some idea. Most things are widely available. I think most everyone here would tell you that you should either see Charles or Taming of the Shrew next. The first will be easy to find the second will be impossible as it's only available in Region 2 at the moment but we might be able to help out. Of course there are tons and tons of screen caps so you can very clearly see what you're missing and if you have a fast connection there are some nice little flash videos on the multimedia page as well as some of Rufus radio works from over the years. You'll also find in Misc on the the website, links to all kinds of other Rufus pages and groups, the most notable of which is the amazing barfleurs Rufus page which has things you will find nowhere else-- www.aboutrufus.comso that should get you started. Let us know if you need any help. ;D
