I was browsing the Theatre Archive Project on the British Library website, and found this interview with someone called Joy Ranger: www.bl.uk/projects/theatrearchive/ranger5.html"JR: .... there’s some very, very good actors, some very good young actors coming along now. TD: Any particular ones you’re admiring at the moment? JR: Well, Adrian Lester for a starter. He’s brilliant. Macfadyen, he’s very good. Well, Rufus Sewell, but he’s not young, is he? [laughs] TD: No, he’s not now, is he? [laughs] JR: But I saw him first in Arcadia and he was so good in that. TD: Oh really? What was his role in the original production? JR: He played the tutor. TD: Oh did he? Oh right. JR: Yes and what was the girl’s name who played the girl? She was very good, and she’s doing a lot of work now…? I can’t remember. It was… I’ll never forget it, we were lucky enough to go on the first night of that and it was just gob-smacking, and he was superb in it, as he is in Rock’n’Roll." Not sure about him not being young (he's hardly ancient...and Adrian Lester's less than a year younger!) but nice to see him being praised. The interview was last September. GE2

LOL! They sound as if they aren't quite sure. I was pretty "gob-smacked" by his performance in Rock 'n' Roll too... as to young, for an actor he's just getting to his prime.
